LENGTHY CAPTION?

I was at rehearsals with my band recently when someone reminded me of this day, and thinking back, it was hilarious 😂.

I’d just put out my first single, TGIF, a month prior to this edition of believer’s bond (circa 2024, October) and honestly, I had no plans of “performing” or being invited anywhere (quite frankly, it’s never been a target for me, although I’m grateful whenever the possibility arises- regardless of if there’s alignment or not).

Anyway, I got contacted, prayed about it, got clearance to go (especially because it was going to be my first major career appearance).

Then came rehearsals with my guys (funny how we all met in teens church lol. Plus, I’d always opt for live music because I absolutely LOVE arranging instruments/stems. I mean, live is LIVE).

Two days (or a day? Can’t remember rn) prior to the event, I get in a nasty accident that hurt my lower back (kinda still recovering from it). My mum throws question marks, I insist to follow through.

Fast forward to a couple minutes to my set, my nerves are all over the place- but I’m used to it (choir-groomed innit?)
But really, it was gonna be the first time in an audience with more unfamiliar faces than otherwise.

Regardless, I’d gotten really good at “doing it” regardless of how I feel (90% success rate tho😂), and this video is a testament to that.

The point of this lengthy caption? The wilderness is necessary to hone you, it really is (it’s also a recurring part of the journey of life).

I am starting this gratitude challenge because I was inspired by @adarh9. She reminded me that gratitude is a daily tending of the soul, not something reserved for perfect seasons. So for the rest of November, I am choosing to notice. To slow down. To acknowledge the tender parts of life, shining light on the quiet and the big moments.

Today, I am grateful for rain.

Not only the rain that falls from the sky, but the rain that arrives in the heart. The kind that softens the soil where I once felt dry. The kind that says: breathe. release. begin again. Rain shows up without asking permission, and it nourishes what is hidden. It teaches me that growth can be silent and still.

There is something gentle in the way rain touches everything. There is no performance in it. No urgency. Just presence. And I want my gratitude to feel like that too. Soft. Steady. True.

So here is to rain. To the cleansing, the renewing, the gentle pulse of the sky. To the small, sacred things that keep us alive even when we are not paying attention.

As we step into November, we want you to join us on a journey of cultivating gratitude and thanksgiving in our heart.

To help us focus on gratitude, we are starting a 20-day gratitude challenge starting on November 10th! Each day, we’ll provide prompts (see example in slide 2), to guide your reflections and help you cultivate a heart of thankfulness.

This challenge is designed to help you:

- Shift your focus from worries to blessings
- Develop a habit of gratitude in your daily life
- Experience the joy and peace that comes from trusting in God’s goodness

In a world filled with uncertainty, it’s easy to get caught up in worries and doubts. However, when we focus on gratitude, we open ourselves up to God’s presence and promises.
