It is with a heavy heart I give this update…Bella did have an accident at gymnastics last week- when completing her dismount from the beam she stuck the landing- well her feet did -but her body kept rotating. She heard some pops and down she went.

We were optimistic but found out yesterday that she did tear her ACL and meniscus. She also strained her LCL and her MCL and has a bone bruise. She will have to have ACL reconstructed in the next few weeks. They are not sure of the extent of the meniscus damage but we are currently following the major meniscus repair protocol. She will be out for around 9 months- it depends on the extent of the meniscus repair. They believe the LCL, MCL, and bone bruise should heal on their own.

As many of you know gymnastics has been her life for over 13 years and it is a huge blow that her senior year will end like this. We have had a few conversations and some tears. It is not what we planned but honestly I feel like any time in my life I have had a plan God laughed at it and said “I have something different.” Things have always worked out and I truly believe they will continue to. Adversity makes you stronger and I know that Bella is so much more than gymnastics and I’m excited to see her shine in all the ways God has planned for her.

Nate and I named her Isabella because it means devoted to God and her faith and strength through all of this has been so admirable. Also, all the love and care from our friends and family during this time has meant so much to us. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. This is not the end… it is just a new beginning ❤️❤️
