I am in awe of this human that God gave me the privilege to raise. She knows adversity more than most in this sport. Battling through back to back hip labrum surgeries in the middle of her junior year (prime recruiting window) to keep your dream alive. Then playing and studying behind the absolutely amazing setters and influences of Jaz and Jordan for two years gave her some of the best friends of her life. I am grateful that I was here to watch her check this box in person and can’t let this moment pass without a shout out. Today, she finally had her first ever division 1 college volleyball start. I am happy for her to have her brief moment. She is an absolute unsung hero on so many levels and serves her team selflessly. They are lucky to have her. Congratulations on your moment, baby girl. You give so much of yourself unconditionally. I wish you continued success in the next box you check… earning you degree in three years in May? 😉 My advice to you and any young lady out there is that you never, ever allow any coach, man, employer, or any other future person to tell you that you can’t do something. And certainly don’t allow someone to disrespect you. Always stand up for yourself and others. Hold every person in your life accountable for their actions and never be “handled” because they think they can. We love you!
