Some of the action from the FAI Cup Final

What a final.

Athlone Town arrived at Tallaght Stadium as newly crowned league champions, with the chance to complete a second successive league and cup double.

But Shelbourne had other ideas.

Shels came flying out of the traps, taking control of the game from the opening whistle. Halle Harcourt opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Alex Kavanagh doubled the lead with a superb free-kick.

Maeve Wollmer then added a third just before half-time to send Shelbourne into the break 3–0 ahead.

Athlone pushed hard after the break, but Shelbourne stood firm, with goalkeeper Mya Sanchez producing several important saves.

Hannah Waesch pulled one back in the 90th minute, but it was Shelbourne’s afternoon.

Shelbourne were FAI Women’s Cup champions. 🏆

A brilliant performance, a memorable final and another special afternoon at Tallaght Stadium.

Three goals in four games for our new signing, as she becomes the second Shels player to claim the award this season, following Halle Harcourt’s win in July 🔴

Congratulations, Isabella! ❤️
