happy #whykappawednesday from our precious @bellaodjourian 🤍

“If you had given me a glimpse into the future that I’d be joining a sorority, I would’ve laughed. Growing up in a strict, Armenian-Italian household with an immigrant father, I was raised to be independent, value-driven, and most of all, ‘never become one of the joneses’. Freshman year, I felt an internal conflict as all my friends wanted to go through sorority recruitment. I equated sororities with conformity and the loss of individuality, yet I rushed. That limited perspective quickly shifted the second I walked into Kappa and met women who carried themselves with confidence and authenticity. I knew then I could be unapologetically myself and truly embody the woman my parents raised me to be.

It’s been two years since I opened that envelope, and I can proudly say that realization became my reality, largely due to my PC. While the start to these relationships was hard, these women have helped me grow both mentally and physically. They have filled my life with kindness and love while still holding me to my highest standard, which is exactly why I’m proud of who I see in the mirror today. PC 24, you have truly changed my perception of life and myself, and while it was tough to digest, I wouldn’t rewrite my tale any other way.

Looking ahead, I know two of the most important women in my college life will stand beside me on my wedding day, @becca.walkerr and @sophiaabraga. Becca, we’ve been inseparable since you became my bid-day buddy, and I want to say how thankful I am to have you as my big, built-in best friend, and as a woman I truly admire. Sophia, my little spawn, you’re undoubtedly the strongest woman I know. Even as you’re big, I aspire to radiate your drive, resilience, and confidence. I love you guys.

To the rest of my Kappa family, thank you for the experience you have delivered as my sisters. Words can’t describe the love I felt since I stepped through that blue door. Even now, writing this, I smile knowing how much it means to say, ‘I’m a Kappa.’”
