I’ve known Jackie Tohn since she was three years old. Camp Roosevelt in the Catskills. Our parents were teachers with summers off, and they became friends with a bunch of other teachers who did the same. They called themselves the Roosevelt Club. I watched her mom Bella work the game as her agent. I remember her first big break on The Nanny with Fran Drescher. Now I see her on red carpets. Step and repeats. GLOW. The Boys. Nobody Wants This. She put in the work and earned every bit of it. Her dad Al had male breast cancer. Jackie got tested. Found out she carries the BRCA1 gene. 85% lifetime risk. She had a preventive double mastectomy in December. They found precancerous cells. It may have saved her life. This isn’t a sponsored promo. This is just real talk: if your mom, your sister, your dad had cancer, you should probably know your risk. The technology today is good. Trust it. So proud of you, Jackie. Always have been. 💙 #BRCA1 #KnowYourRisk #AHavenOfHealthAndHappiness
