šŸ’•Dear Diary,
When we don’t try, we miss out 100% of the time.

I think it’s important to give your all in every aspect of your life.

So many times in my life, I feel like I’ve held myself back because I fear uncertainty or misinterpret discomfort as something negative that we should avoid.

I’ve put so many rules around my life as if it were productive, and lately I’ve realized they’ve only kept me from truly being myself and living fully.

When protecting my ego and avoiding discomfort starts to take away from how I actually want to show up, is it really worth staying guarded?

I think we focus too much on labels, rules, and social scripts to feel safer amid life’s unavoidable uncertainties.

We can’t control others or outcomes, but we can control ourselves and how we show up each day, and labels provide a false sense of security while ripping us away from what’s real.

I think in the era of social media, so many people feel pressure to protect their ego because, in a way, they tie it to their reputation.

But a reputation rooted in authenticity and an unwavering desire to always be kind will take you much further than the one you have to hide behind.

Now I see that in the pursuit of growth and success, I don’t have to compromise myself; I just need to learn how to alchemize what I already have into what’s next.

Life is hard, confusing, and sometimes quite messy… but how we handle the chaos will determine the character I develop.

Don’t let fear run your life so much that it makes you lose sight of who you are and how you want to interact with the world.

Guardedness is common, not normal.

Why normalize survival when we were biologically designed to live?

To live is to risk, and to risk is to feel, and while that may seem scary at times, that is the whole point of our lives.

We may never know what tomorrow will bring, but we can decide how willing we are to enjoy today.

JUST BEFORE WE SAID ā€œI DOā€ šŸšā¤ļø

I feel like validation becomes a tender trap so easily in the creator-heavy economy we navigate.

In a world constantly being digitally optimized for attention, we’ve started to see that desire for validation show up in other parts of our personal lives.

We see so many people equate their worth as people with their financial status or fame metrics, which distorts their self-perception through a lens that downplays their humanity and significance.

So many of us just want to fit in or feel like we are building something others will respect without building that inner sanctuary for ourselves, and it leads to so much burnout and people realizing sometimes too late that they could’ve chosen a path with less resistance to peace.

Most high achievers now use joy as the reward for success instead of learning how to balance both.

Waiting until the end of a deadline to live your life doesn’t make the celebration any greater; it just forces you to celebrate less over your entire life.

But true fulfillment lies in finding balance between the things that bring you joy and the life you truly want.

We have to stop leading lives that don’t align with what we say we want out of life and have to start confronting the uncomfortable truths we’re avoiding before it becomes too late.

Just because you realize you may be leading a life that doesn’t support what you want doesn’t mean you’re behind; it means you know where to start next.

Stop hiding from your reality and using distractions to excuse the fact that you aren’t showing up for the life you want, just the life that’s easiest to attain right now.

šŸ’–Dear Diary,
Lately I’ve been forcing myself to sit with this question…

Am I busy building the life I want or distracted by the life that’s easily accessible?

I have many great things surrounding me that provide me with immense joy and make me feel grateful, and yet I still recognize this isn’t ultimately how I want to end.

I feel like much of my life right now is spent filling time with things that feed my passions, until someone comes along and gives me the space to become passionate about building a family.

I’ve always known from a young age that I was family-oriented, and yet in a fast-paced society, that sometimes feels like a sin.

I think a lot of people misinterpret my desire to build a happy family with someone as desperation because we live in a world that has normalized not knowing what you want.

We have a dating culture filled with ā€œlet’s see where it goesā€ and people talking to multiple people at once, so of course those of us who stay loyal early because we don’t have the time to juggle options and know what we want out of life can become a threat to people who thrive on uncertainty and chaotic game-playing dynamics.

It has nothing to do with being desperate for a specific person, and everything to do with being certain of the future that I want for myself and ultimately for my future family.

I feel like I’m caught in an awkward space between still existing in a single woman’s life while not wanting the single-woman lifestyle anymore.

I don’t really want to be out and about; I’d much rather be at home with someone and caring for children, but until then I have to keep living my life, so I fill my time with things I know I can be good at in an attempt to make that feeling go away just a little bit.

While I love the thrill of the lifestyle I have now, I still deeply long for the day when my new passion will shift toward building a home with and for someone.

But for now, I’m creating a bunch of fun stories to tell my future kids!

XOXO ~LJšŸ’‹

🧠Dear Diary,
The past week, I’ve been confronting my fear of inadequacy.

Sometimes the reality of still being a ā€œwork in progressā€ feels heavier than other times.

That feeling where you recognize who you’re becoming while also knowing you’re not there yet.

Sometimes that discomfort creates inner conflicts that bleed into my quality of life if I let it.

We have normalized survival mode as a culture so much that we’ve taught each other that approaching the world through paranoia is the same as being protective.

When, in reality, it’s a defense mechanism created to guard us from the potential feeling of abandonment and rejection.

But part of recognizing that I’m not who I want to be yet is the choice to find enjoyment in the process of my becoming.

I’m realizing that a lot of my feelings of inadequacy stem from a lack of structure in how I’m currently approaching life, and with that knowledge, I find joy in building that stability for myself.

When I don’t feel confident in my habits, it’s easy to nitpick all the things I’m doing wrong, so instead of sitting in my own misery, I became deeply passionate about hobbies and activities that fuel my own self-growth, health, and wealth.

Recognizing that feeling inadequate is a part of life, but that what I do with those insecurities dictates my life, has really freed me from a lifetime of battling the fear of not being ā€œcoolā€ enough.

Now the focus is no longer on what others perceive, but on what my best version of me looks like, and on finding creative, joyful ways to be that person every day.

So while I sit in this discomfort, I find that the truth always lies within the layers we peel back during that time.

šŸ’–Dear Diary,
Everyone is so desperate for connection, but are they willing to do the work to connect?

Lately, I’ve been feeling like most people walk through the world living in a state of cognitive dissonance.

Where who they are deep down doesn’t align with the current version of themselves playing out in real life.

One of my biggest fears is feeling claustrophobic by my own life.

Having that deep feeling that I spent so much of my life building a life I ultimately don’t want in the end.

and the only way I know how to avoid that fear is to be absurdly present and self-aware.

our lives are a collection of split decisions we make throughout each and every day, and when we walk through the world in dissonance, we are completely disconnected from the decisions we are actively making, which causes us to not fully be aware of how our actions are creating a life in which we do not want.

but we have the power to create our own stories.

If man’s one goal in life is to feel ā€œhappy,ā€ why do we continuously shift the goal post for happiness?

American culture has brainwashed people to believe that joy and happiness are something you can buy into because it helps the economy to sustain itself.

but it comes at the expense of our humanity.

All these materialistic goods and titles are useless when we take our final breath, so why are we constantly associating our happiness with things that can be easily destroyed or taken?

choose to make happiness simple so you can exist in peace instead of living a life where you feel you have to earn happiness.

true power lies in perception.

Once you change your perception of things and change the requirements for happiness, you will start to build the life that truly fulfills you.

ā˜®ļøDear Diary,
Lately I’ve been battling a low-grade burnout.

I’m in a place where a lot of the things I used to do are becoming more and more draining.

Not because they’re bad, but because my outlook on life is changing.

So many times, people try to conform to systems that the world puts on us, yet we neglect the simple reality that our lives are full of nuance and ever-so-changing.

As I peel back some of the layers on my life, I recognize that I’m no longer willing to accept low quality into my life.

Whether that’s friends
Family
Relationships
Career goals

I am no longer willing to allow things into my life that are only there to benefit from me in ways that aren’t authentic.

We were never made to treat each other as transactional.

We were biologically designed for connection.

But now we live in a world that’s so hyper-focused on optics that, in the end, we forget the humanity behind it.

Then I sit and wonder…

When you build a world around you filled with people who only want you when you’re relevant, how can you say that any of your life is real? And how can you convince yourself you’re not alone?

So now I prioritize connection, community, and my own healing and happiness because, at the end of the day, happiness is a choice you make in each moment of every day.

Happiness isn’t what you have or what you get from others; it’s a conscious choice to make decisions that serve who you desire to be.

So while I recognize I’m a work in progress, I’m accepting that all the thrill comes from figuring out how to turn inevitable life suffering into joy I can give to others.

XOXO ~LJšŸ’‹
