~ The luxury of doing very little ~ A comfortable corner. A good book. The gentle rhythm of a spring afternoon. Sometimes the most memorable moments are the ones where absolutely nothing is expected of us. No schedules. No rushing. No particular place to be. Just the simple pleasure of slowing down, settling in and allowing the day to unfold. Here, we believe these moments aren’t indulgences. They’re essential. Spring, slowly. image by @simone_g_imagery

I’m particularly excited to share some of my recent work from Beulah House. This was my second visit, and every time I’m here, I’m amazed by the grand spaces, stunning décor, and romantic atmosphere 🤍 As an enthusiast of old British period dramas and novels, I like to imagine myself as a character from one of those books. Dressing-up, having long candlelit dinners, waking up for sunrise, and taking a leisurely stroll through the garden, pondering about life, while the birds offer their morning greetings. Dressed in ten layers of fabric, of course. (The reality was somewhat less poetic. At six in the morning, I was, in fact, wearing pyjamas.) Still, Beulah House has a remarkable way of transporting you to another era. It leaves you wandering through its rooms imagining the lives once lived there, with a desire to know more about the history, the people who lived before us, and the stories these beautiful spaces hold ✨

As the season turns, there’s something especially beautiful about the way autumn light settles across a room. Seen here at @beulahhouselaunceston, styled by @bellebrightproject, Copes Trail feels perfectly attuned to the moment. Inspired by the old orchards once surrounding Holland House, its watercolour branches, grasses and exotic planting bring a gentle sense of movement to the walls, softened by the season’s quieter light. Printed on a fine textile ground, the design has a depth and tactility that feels quietly at home as interiors begin to take on a more layered, cocooning mood. Stay | @lemongumatbanongillstation was built c. 1860 overlooking Mt Emu Creek. Lovingly restored and reimagined as an idyllic country farm stay, it forms part of @banongillstation - one of Western Victoria’s great wool stations. A testament to Australia’s wool industry, during the 19th & 20th centuries it was a bustling sheep station employing up to sixty people. The cottage’s interiors feature kitchen benchtops milled from the old shearers quarters floors, and a restored antique clawfoot bath brought down from the main homestead, with views of the lemon-scented gum that gives the cottage its name. Outside, 15 acres of gardens laid out by William Guilfoyle surround the historic homestead, with sweeping lawns, date palms, climbing roses, lavender, and a stunning wisteria walk. Lemongum Cottage sleeps four guests in luxurious comfort. Gather round the fire pit, play tennis, picnic in the heritage gardens, and spot platypus in the creek. An easy two hour drive from Melbourne. For more information and to book, visit the link in our bio. Beulah House has three individually-designed bathrooms, all with spacious rainwater showers and their own freestanding bath. Enjoy a unique bathing and relaxation experience in each room, with indulgent @shopsaison bubble bath and @leifproducts. On the ground floor, a deep copper bath awaits, drawing inspiration from late 19th century French bathing, its curved design inviting long, luxurious soaks. Upstairs is a romantic, light-filled bathroom with claw foot bath that captures views of the magnolias and mountains beyond, and a serene green-toned bathroom with Rockwell bath from @watermonopoly and @wmorrisandco wallpaper. Basins and tapware by @theenglishtapwarecompany feature throughout, with interiors by @bellebrightproject. Which is your favourite? Styling it right. Home staging/styling/dressing call it what you wish but it’s so essential to creating an interior of much beauty, desirability and inspiration. I often sit in awe of certain stylists admiring their hard work efforts and creativity. This home styled by @bellebrightproject is such an interior space. Atmospheric, serene and casually chic, this home draped in natural tones in NSW’s Kangaroo Valley is breathtaking. A tale of a hardworking pantry, a laundry and a stretch of coastline. When we began designing Port Farm, we knew the land and the sea stretching out before our ‘one day’ house on the hill would inspire what happened inside. As with the rest of the house, the pantry and laundry were designed around the colours, textures and ruggedness of Port Campbell Bay and the Great Ocean Road — but also around the everyday. Making tea, clearing dishes, washing sheets and towels, and somewhere to shed sandy and muddy clothes. And yet, these two rooms nearly didn’t make it past the drawing board. They were spaces we wanted, but when the budget got tight, they were also spaces we were prepared to lose. It’s hard to now imagine Port Farm without them and we were particularly delighted to this week find them featured in the new Kitchens, Bathrooms & Laundry edition of @countrystylemag . Initially, we were a little shy of using so much colour, but thankfully Amy from @mainehouseinteriors gave us the push we needed to stay true to our brief — to bring the colours and textures of the coast inside. With special touches by @bellebrightproject and photographed by @gemmola, it’s a lovely reminder that sometimes the rooms you nearly leave out can become the ones you’re most glad you kept. 🌊 ~ Port Farm is a place for families and friends to slow down and experience the Great Ocean Road differently. Direct bookings are welcome via the link in our bio or www.portstays.com.au 📍Port Farm is on Eastern Maar Country. #GreatOceanRoad #AustralianInteriors #CountryStyleMagazine #InteriorInspiration #Pantry Kitchen pantry at Port Farm featuring dark green cabinetry, black stone benches, fabric under sink skirt and timber shelves.
