Project N // 001. Archive: Castello di Casole, Belmond.

A hilltop estate in Tuscany asked for a drink that tastes like the place.

We said yes before checking the calendar.

Every house gets a file. This one is open.

You wake up on a private canal boat, breakfast is brought to your cabin, and the only decision left is whether to bike to a château or stay on deck. 🌾

This is @lesbateauxbelmond, seven “floating villas” that drift through France at about walking pace from April to October. No other guests, no schedule. Just your group, your crew, and the countryside sliding past.

✨ Dinner is four or five courses, built from ingredients picked up at the markets you passed that day and served on deck as the sun goes down.
✨ Winemakers host private tastings and dinners aboard, or open their own cellars to your group. These are estates the public rarely gets into.
✨ Days off the boat are curated by your own guest experience manager. Think castle visits, e-bike rides along the towpath, art tours, even a Dijon mustard-making class.

Menus are curated by Dominique Crenn, the first woman in the U.S. to earn three Michelin stars, who designed them to reflect each region’s character and ingredients.

It’s the villa experience, except the view changes every day. 🛥️

Save this for the group trip you keep saying you’ll plan. 💌

Dior (@dior) has opened its first permanent spa in Sicily at Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina (@belmondgrandhoteltimeo), bringing its Haute Wellness philosophy to the heart of the hotel's historic gardens.

Blending Dior’s signature wellness expertise with Sicilian influences and Belmond’s (@belmond) Slow Luxury ethos, the spa features four exclusive treatment rooms, including the Isola Bella Suite, designed for treatments for two and complete with an infrared sauna and dedicated beauty space.

The wellness offering includes Dior’s signature Talisman of Vitality ritual, advanced facial and body treatments, and the personalised Dior Wellness Villeggiatura programme, co-created with wellness experts Byrony Deery and Rose Ferguson.

Set against the backdrop of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea, the new spa introduces a holistic wellness experience to one of Taormina’s most iconic hotels.

| the Pink Lady
The @belmondmountnelsonhotel is affectionately dubbed the ‘Pink Lady’: in the First World War, thousands of South African soldiers had joined the battle. When news of the war’s ending reached the General Manager in 1918, he celebrated by ordering the hotel being painted a joyful pink.

In addition to the grand hotel building, there are a series of suites and cottages - one of the latter being my home for three days. Here’s how I spent my day at the hotel:

07h00 Read
08h00 Garden Tour
09h00 Breakfast
10h00 Pool time
12h00 Tennis
13h00 In room dining
14h00 spa
16h00 Rest
18h00 Stroll
19h00 Chef’s Table
22h00 Bath

Morning swims off the private beach, granitas by the pool, grilled seafood and dinners with the Ionian Sea as a backdrop. @belmondvillasantandrea la dolce vita takes on a distinctly Sicilian character.

Perched on the secluded Bay of Mazzarò in Taormina, this historic villa is one of those rare addresses where the romance of old Sicily meets the pleasures of life by the sea.

Originally built in 1919 as a private residence, Villa Sant’Andrea has retained the intimacy of a family home.

As the sun begins to set, Brizza is the place to be: a 16-seat restaurant right at the water’s edge, where dinner unfolds to the sound of the waves.

The seafood menu offers a thoughtful interpretation of Mediterranean flavours. It begins with Mosaico, lightly marinated seafood paired with citrus and fruit in a play of zests, gel and dried textures. The ravioli combines turmeric, red scorpionfish, almonds, sea urchin and lemon, while the scampi is presented with crustacean emulsion, coral, sweet-and-sour onion, tartare and tuber.

It is this combination of Sicilian heritage, elegance and flavours that makes Villa Sant’Andrea @belmond such an enduring Taormina icon.
