it’s nearly halloween… 🩸

next up in my lil books/fragrance series: IF MINA HARKER WERE A PERFUME // dracula by bram stoker. her character is mostly in a hazy, lustful trance, so to me, her scent would be just as dreamy & dramatic & darkly feminine, with notes like delicately earthy rose, smoky incense, & rich woods at the forefront. 🕯️🌹🪵

(if you didn’t know, i’m a beauty journalist by day, reviewing product & interviewing celebs & writing about trends when my baby sleeps — though before that, i was a marketer at a fragrance house, writing stories for scent & working alongside some of the most fascinating, artful perfumers. because of it, i’m so passionate about perfume, & of course books)

🦇 what book icon should i do next?

Every time I try another @belnuofficial , I find another one I want in my collection. 🤍

A little vibe check on my three:

Still Bloom 🌹
Bright, spicy rose with black tea and a beautiful woody foundation.
orange • cardamom • sesame • black tea • Rose de Mai • geranium • cedarwood • guaiacwood • musk

Vanilla Bouclé 🤍
The sample was so beautiful that I immediately ordered a bottle. Almond, coconut milk, chamomile, and vanilla, with soft woods and a little green texture.
white almond • coconut milk • chamomile • violet leaf • olibanum • cypress • vanilla • sandalwood • amber

Chai Fleur 🪻
One of my favorite sweet sandalwoods. Warm chai spices, soft florals, vanilla, and creamy woods. Such an easy fragrance to love.
nutmeg • cinnamon • green cardamom • lavender • cistus • violet • vanilla bean • cypriol • cedarwood • sandalwood

Three different moods, all from a house I’ve loved exploring.

Which would you reach for first?

Sometimes in the Fall, a tea fragrance just hits different…

Still Bloom by @belnuofficial is one of those fragrances, which I picked up at @xtraitperfumeryusa
