@belzerjudith installing Walking Project: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral in preparation for the opening this week!

Please join us for the opening of this exhibition on Friday, June 26, from 6 - 8 PM. Free and open to the public!

Primarily a painter, Belzer has expanded her practice to include walks, intentional actions during which she collects natural and human-made objects to present on tabletop displays. Walking Project is the first exhibition featuring this strain of Belzer’s production.

The artist, who started her college education at @atbennington , considers her collecting to be “an antidote to our throwaway culture and to nature’s own tendency to shed things like leaves or seeds.” Arranging her findings into intuitive configurations, Belzer finds that objects otherwise considered worthless take on a new or heightened value in relationship with one another—starting “small yet revelatory conversations.”

The Robert Frost Stone House Museum offers an ideal context for Belzer’s explorations, as Frost himself often took what he called “botanizing walks” alone or with companions. One of these walks was the origin of perhaps his best-known poem, “The Road Not Taken.” “Nature is always hinting at us,” Frost wrote in his notebook. “It hints over and over again. And suddenly we take the hint.”

Belzer’s exhibition and related programming invite viewers and participants to experience the power of observation in nature, to gain insights into human experience, and to tap into their own creative potential.

This exhibition and related programming are a collaborative project with Bennington College’s Usdan Gallery, made possible with support from The Fund for North Bennington and the Endeavor Foundation through the Endeavor Lab Colleges collaborative.

“What else can you do with your mind?”

@shakasenghor shook us to our core and got us all standing on our feet as he closed the main stage talks on Day 2 of the Imagination Chapter.

It was a day of heart and mind-expanding stories with @danbuettner, Marian Goodell of @burningman, the winner of the Harvest Voices programme for this year, @milladkhonsorkh, and of course, Shaka.

@blisspoint.co held us in breathwork and cracked us open as she has done for every chapter of Harvest Kaplankaya since the very beginning.

We moved, laughed, questioned, played, witnessed magic, and dined in good company; our connections just a bit more deeper than the day before.

Thank you to each person who made this possible.

Sometimes the universe conspires in incredible ways, gathering strangers around a table, under a sky…

This past week, through the quiet magic of @harvestseries , I found myself among brilliant souls from across the world. We wandered through conversations on incarceration and blue zones, weather patterns and theater, music and meaning, stitching together fragments of our worlds…

What stayed with me most was not where we came from, but the strange and beautiful truth that beneath all our differences lived the same simple longing: to leave this world softer than we found it, to create more hope, more joy, more humanity.

For a brief moment in time, it felt possible ✨

Complex technically sophisticated abstracts by @belzerjudith @hosfeltgallery reflect the chaos of reality right now. There's a structure to the randomness as if it's attempting to resolve. I guess we'll just have to hold on tight and see what happens. 🌐 #judithbelzer #hosfeltgallery #pinkiecam
