Literally will not leave his side/leg nest. So thankful for this therapeutic ball of fluff. ♥️

This is so NOT how we wanted this season to go for our Benny.

After dislocating his shoulder during Spring football camp, we witnessed him consistently focus his summer on building strength through regular lifting sessions and assigned rehab program.

We sent him off to Fall camp so excited and ready to watch him work his way up the depth chart to some consistent playing time. Unfortunately, his season ended before he even got a chance to play a game.

During Fall football camp (that was going so GREAT-we got so many fun Hudl video clips texted to us from practices) Benny re-dislocated his shoulder and sustained extensive damage. SEASON OVER.

This setback was met with the expected initial emotions of frustration and disappointment (and rightfully so), BUT also with a shift in his mindset of getting surgery done ASAP to move forward and begin healing. Up until surgery, he never missed a practice and continued to show up for his team.

We are grateful to the BU Sports Medicine team, specifically Justin Byers. Justin’s quick referral to the best shoulder surgeon and quick help from TCO Edina and TCO Crosstown surgery center, who worked together to fast-track Ben’s surgery…thus, giving him the best and longest timeline possible for recovery and hopefully return to play for the 27-28 season.

He underwent surgery yesterday (9-16-26) to fix tears and subsequent damage and is now home and on the road to recovery.

We pray his recovery and rehab are uneventful, we remain beyond grateful for his incredible support system of medical professionals, roommates, teammates, as well as friends and family that continue to check in on and support him.

We are eager to witness him heal and grow through this challenge.

LAST Stiftungsfest parade as an active firefighter for @jessemolnau (no retirement date set…but this parade only happens every 5 years).

So incredibly proud of Jesse AND our kids (for sharing him with the community)! Truly a family affair and something we will all treasure and we look forward to supporting Joe for however many years he chooses to be involved.

BENNY!!!!

Cheers to 19 years Benny Boo-Boo Bear, Bennihana, Benny and the Jets, Boo-Boo, Ben-Ben, Bull in a China Shop.....and so many more names that you have.

May your joints stay in place, may you have fun and make good choices, and my you always continue to see the world with creativity and curiosity (even if it means you will spike my blood pressure).

You never cease to make things fun (interesting) and you have such a kind heart. Being your mom has truly been one of the best joys of my life and I am looking forward to seeing how you continue to grow.

Work hard, be kind, and make good choices!
Love YOU!
