My grand father Fernand Bwakanda Fwelo was one of the largest land owners and farmers in his province and the county. Him and my grand mother Suzanne Mundelengolo Malosa, raised their 13 children with these few words, hard work, respect, scholarship and love for all mankind.

My grandfather as we called him intimately Papa Coco was an entrepreneur and he was also a pipe smoker.

As we got older, we only saw him during the summer and my siblings and cousins just couldn’t wait to sit around the tree as he told us stories while eating his cola nuts. That was also the only time we were allowed to have a sip of beer.

So when my brother Oliver Okolo afforded me this opportunity to add the pipe smoker to our collection, it just hit home in so many levels.
