3 days into week 1 of Revive’s Consistency Challenge powered by lululemon, and it is going strong! 💪💫

So proud of everyone for making the commitment to show up! YOU made that decision!

In a recent email from Jimmy Barkan, he writes:

How do you actually keep showing up? Day after day. Week after week. Year after year. Here is the secret sauce. Make the decision once.

You are lying in bed in the morning thinking should I get up and go to the early morning class?
Or you just put in a full day of work and you are debating the last class of the day in your head.

If you have to make that decision every single morning and every single evening, eventually you will talk yourself out of it.

Life will always give you a reason not to go. But when you make the decision once, everything changes. It is no longer a question of should I. You are already committed. The decision has been made.

After class, Jimmy says he would feel so extraordinary that the feeling itself kept reminding him why he made that decision in the first place.
That feeling became its own motivation. So make the decision today. Not tomorrow morning when the alarm goes off. Not after work when you are tired and your couch is calling. Right now. Stop negotiating with yourself. The decision has been made. Now just show up. 💫

Week 1 - if you miss your regular schedule consistency class, take a 90min 26&2 yoga class on Saturday or Sunday, because this is about you showing up for you to feel extraordinary, and we want you to succeed!

Week 1 raffle prize by lululemon will be pulled Sunday after classes. Yes you can!

TRUE LIGHT — LET’S REUNITE! 🤍✨

I’m SO excited to be back on the mat with you guys next week, + even more excited to be collaborating with our friends at @surfsidenj again!

Surfside is in the business of helping boys become men — supporting young men struggling with addiction through brotherhood rooted in growth, respect, + spirituality, while also deeply encouraging the arts & movement as part of the recovery process.

October is Mental Health Awareness Month, + bringing awareness to addiction, recovery, + the importance of mental health is something I care deeply about.

As someone who has been sober for 9 years now, I know this is something that touches all of us — whether we’re admitting it or not. Through ourselves, a family member, a friend, a partner.

I’m actually incredibly grateful for the struggles I’ve experienced with my own mental health and substance use because they brought me to this practice, to my people, + to a deep relationship with Spirit that has allowed me to live a life more connected to joy, purpose, + God than I ever could have predicted.

Getting sober taught me how to live life completely raw, on life’s terms + yoga has taught me how to become conscious within that life — to make choices intentionally instead of sleepwalking through them.

Yoga + recovery don’t promise that we’ll become perfect people.

But they teach us how to have the hard conversations.
How to show up in love, even when it’s uncomfortable.
How to keep our hearts open.
How to make amends when we’re wrong.
How to sit in discomfort instead of running from it.
& how to use the hard things to become stronger, more connected, + closer to Source + each other.

That’s something I believe everyone could benefit from.

If you’re struggling, there is no shame in it. Get help. Reach out. Ask for support.

And remember: it’s okay to sometimes not be okay. 🤍

HUGE thank you to our local @lululemon store for hosting us, supporting mental health, supporting True Light through this transition, and continuing to show up for and give back to our local community.

I can’t wait to see my people back on the mat. 🥹🙏🏼

And just like that… she’s a SENIOR. 🤍🎓
Watching you grow from the little girl I held in my arms into the beautiful, strong, resilient & amazing young woman you are has been the greatest gift of my life.
I’m so proud of the person you’ve become, and I can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you. Soak it all in, my girl — you have such a bright future. ✨
