A Little Goes A Long Way… @lauriefryyy (director) and @trey_mutazu (Cinematographer and Editor) from @londonscreenacademy captured the essence of Under One Sky's work on the streets. The duo wanted create a film that inspires the viewer to take action and sign up to volunteer. Their film conveys the mood, texture and subtext the Skywalking experience beautifully. Enjoy watching it and join the Under One Sky family if you are moved to take direct action. A big thank you to programme lead Begum Whitehead at LSA for making this collaboration reality and to Skywalkers @benjamin_lloyd_harding , Angela Sormani, Amelie Harding @_melzak_ and @silas.poore for contributing.

What happens when people take time to really see each other?

Last night was a reminder. Simple presence and connection can shift something - quietly, but powerfully.

22 Chief Marketing Officers, walking the (sky)walk.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, especially Joel and the team at Fortune Hill, for showing up with such openness and care, and for walking alongside our homeless friends 💜

On this day 5 years ago the UK went into national lockdown. The day before @dulmum, @brian.whiting.71 and @mikkeljueliversen walked from Waterloo to Soho to understand the reality on the street. The message in the picture was written upon our return. Our conclusion was clear: without support people affected by homelessness will die on the streets. Since then 3,000+ incredible Under One Sky volunteers have delivered about 250,000 connections between our teams and our homeless friends. Or more than 1,000,000 individual interactions between Skywalkers and homeless friends – equivalent to having a chat with 1 in every 10 Londoners. None of this was planned. It was simply acting on Ben’s suggestion “Should we go an have a look at the situation on the streets”. Since Covid our world has become much more chaotic. How do we handle this – this quote provides a good starting point. “What I am looking for is not out there, it is in me.” Helen Keller. Love and prayers to all those who lost loved ones or part of themselves since that day 5 years ago.
