Making our Floating Concrete Shelf.

Concrete, steel wire and thin sheets of aluminium - shaped, cast, finished and assembled entirely by hand.
Four concrete cylinders anchor the structure, while the aluminium shelves are suspended on steel wires to create a light, almost weightless appearance.

A collaborative project by
@elias_shwarz
@benjamingugerell
@dominikscherrer.design

Floating Concrete Shelf will be exhibited on September 26–27 at @coffee.manana, together with projects by @studio____a.m and @elias_shwarz.

The exhibition takes place in parallel with the first weekend of @viennadesignweek.

Just one photo…

People love putting photography into boxes.

Street photography.
Documentary.
Candid.
Portrait.

I don’t really care.

If everyone involved is happy, nobody gets hurt, and we create something memorable together…

…that’s photography to me.

Not every street photo has to be completely candid.

Sometimes all it takes is asking a stranger,
sharing an idea,
and creating something neither of you would’ve made alone.

I saw this BMX rider, asked if he’d help me for a minute, and he was immediately in.

A few minutes later, we had this frame.

I’m thinking about printing it and giving it to him.

Should I?

Thanks for @benjamingugerell for your help 🙏🏻

If you’re here for creative ideas, real interactions, and the stories behind the photos, you’re in the right place.

When put together the Moka Set is a family built around the classic Moka Express.
