Visiting the Duomo in Milan 🇮🇹 with my leadership team, I was struck by the fact that it took more than 500 years to complete. Generations of architects, craftspeople and builders committed to a vision they knew they would never see finished. That stayed with me. Some of the most important things we build require patience, conviction and the willingness to create for a future beyond our own. I can’t wait to come back soon.

In a world where technology is outpacing everything else, I believe these are the three areas marketers should focus on today.

It was wonderful to connect with our partners, creators, clients, and brilliant minds in Cannes this year. A packed week full of optimism and inspiring insights.

One of my biggest takeaways: over the past few decades, the media industry has gone through major disruptions—print to TV, to digital, and now AI. Each shift brought a wave of anxiety around whether creativity (and the role of agencies) would survive.

But what’s fascinating is that creativity hasn’t diminished—it’s only grown in importance.

I loved how our CMO Alex Schultz @alexorig put it:
“Human creativity is the last thing this will automate. AI is the derivative of existing work. End of story. Humans put the creativity on top. Period.”

This year, I’ve been truly inspired by the power of human creativity—how courageous, emotional storytelling took the spotlight again, led by creators.

Last year was about explaining the role creators can play. This year, brands have moved past that and are actively building creator-led creative supply chains at scale.

Beyond the dystopian narratives around AI, it was motivating to see the optimism on how this technology can actually unlock new opportunities—and help us navigate macroeconomic volatility and uncertainty.

Now, time to recharge a little for summer ☀️ and hit the road for H2 🚀
