POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@loslobosfilm at @coastfilmfestival was a dream come true and I’m so grateful to everyone that was a part of it; @loslobos, our documentary team, the Coast FMF team, @rivianofficial Theatre, the sold out crowd, and my family and friends.

Early this year, I asked @benkwarner and @enich to coffee, to introduce Los Lobos Native Sons to them, and pitch it as the flagship to films made by Latina and Chicano filmmakers and potential programs. With an open heart, they saw our film make its world premiere at @sxsw. @hayleynens and their team assembled a block of films with such depth, amplifying stories and storytellers that are too often being hushed.

Allowing me to create Mariachi Matters and share perspectives that spanned across cultures, generations, art forms, and counties, was a definitive moment for me and so good for my heart and soul.

Thank you Coast Film & Music Festival for sharing the good in this world, and for broadening and brightening horizons for me and so many others.

We're so grateful to @coastfilmfestival for inviting us to run four workshops for the festival's Stewardship Day - 220 kids from Compton, LA, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Beach including @tmswaveriders made outstanding drawings of local marine wildlife in just 30 minutes! We are truly blown away by the talent on show and will be dedicating a separate post featuring some of the drawings created!

We also celebrated our fifth year at CFMF where hundreds of people have turned up to our stand to show their love for art and nature, shouting out for the voiceless through their drawings.

Oceans of thanks to CFMF, including @kirstkw @benkwarner @enich @shannon__meredith our DftP youth ambassadors @rosiejrogers_ and @_mia_yanes_ our DftP volunteers @brucie73 @london.skyee @ivy_moana_ @els_huston @jamison.jonesss @jennifuego and our artists for you warm, kind and generous support. Our cherished partnership with CFMF has created some very special moments in DftP's journey 💙💚

Every year I create a piece of work to support @coastfilmfestival and hopefully raise some awareness around our fragile oceans. This piece is available on their online auction and is on display at the festival grounds throughout the weekend. If you love it, please put in your bid and help support a great film festival.. "Guardian" 18"x24" acrylic on canvas. The reef is created by a self developed technique of dripping standard body acrylic with a pallet knife giving the reef dimension and after applying multiple layers in different colours the viewer can actually see into the reef just like when you're down there. The background and shark are handpainted and flat to help enhance the depth of the painting..

Coast Film Festival had a movie screening last night of Los Lobos “Native Son” with 4 of the 5 band members in attendance. The movie director and photographer was there as well and did a Q&A with the audience! What a wonderful night for all that was there! Great piece of history of a legendary band > @loslobos @coastfilmfestival @anthonysmallmusic @lockjaw43 #movie #band #coastfilmfestival
