HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🌱

2025 was truly filled with so much growth. We encountered many challenges this year, but despite all odds, we’ve learned to readjust and explore what it means to continue promoting live music and jazz in our community.

This year, we plan on partnering with @centerfortheartseaglerock (CFAER) to continue our live shows with a regular community music series. Here, we will also begin hosting our jazz education workshops for students in NELA and surrounding neighborhoods, in an effort to promote accessible, affordable, quality jazz education to youth.

The photos are from CFAER’s Holiday Open House concert ❤️ THANK YOU to all the amazing musicians who performed, staff who helped, and community members who attended. We saw so many friends and family in the audience, and we’re so grateful to bring the music back home to Eagle Rock.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We couldn’t be more grateful for you all. Stay tuned for more in the new year 🌱

YEAR IN REVIEW: SEPTEMBER 2025 (part one)

Artists from TRANSA the album and beyond met - many of them for the first time - at @gettymuseum for two days of rehearsals prior to TRANSA: A Celebration. Produced with @sarahannecooper and because of her support + the support of @popcollab , this occasion to figure out new arrangements by @jodielandau showed how truly serious the talent is in the TRANSA universe — and reminded everyone what we’re doing in the music realm.

TRANSA is a 46-track album in eight chapters celebrating trans life and artistry, and the frequencies of transness in everything we love. Visit transa.world to learn more.

QUEER LENS on view through 9.28 @gettymuseum ~

If you missed the LA TRANSA live event, take note: tickets are available now for the NYC version with a new cast of artists playing songs from TRANSA, the spiritual journey celebrating trans people, and beyond - with David Longstreth of @dirtyprojectors serving as music director again.

Affirming synergy with this exhibition at the Getty during TRANSA’s moment at the museum’s Ever Present series. Can’t direct you more emphatically to the LA 9.6 highlights ⬆️

At @gettymuseum we tried some magic: two days of rehearsals with a cast of artists from TRANSA the album and beyond, for a performance featuring songs from the project and more arranged by @jodielandau and music directed by @davidlongstreth of @dirtyprojectors (and TRANSA’s “My Name.”)

We’re doing this in NYC with a new group of artists 12.6 for @powerhouse_arts — get tickets now at the link in bio!

The LA concert ended a daylong festival of trans artistry and gave new life to the even the record’s classic songs; here we revisit Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U” as lensed by Lauren Auder and Wendy & Lisa for TRANSA and then interpreted live in LA by @portraitsoftracy with a house band assembled for the night. “Ever New” from Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s essential ‘Keyboard Fantasies’ saw the composer duet with Sam Smith for TRANSA — at the Getty show, Jodie Landau gave the song a rhapsodic treatment with a full ensemble. Bells swung the way Glenn said Sam’s voice did <3

Video by @miatsuchida with much forthcoming - slow-dripping clips while we’re putting together some beautiful recaps of the full event, which began at 3 and closed at 9 p.m.

Thanks to @sarahannecooper for being a champion of this project !
