🔥 STRENGTH. CONTROL. EXPLOSIVENESS. 💪🏀
.
.
Strength training develops force production, while controlled movement reinforces stability, coordination, and efficient force transfer. Loaded plyometrics challenge athletes to produce and absorb force under load, developing the power and reactive strength needed for explosive athletic movements.
.
.
We don’t just train athletes — we develop movement, build capacity, and prepare the body to perform when it matters most. 🧠⚡️

At The U Movement, we believe every athlete has the potential to become something greater. It starts with YOU — your mindset, your effort, and your commitment to getting better every day.
.
.
Every workout is a chance to grow. Every challenge is an opportunity to improve. We push athletes to raise their standards, embrace the process, and keep striving for greatness💪

Your journey. Your growth. Your game. It all starts with U💯

Work the Body as a UNIT ⛓️‍💥
.
.
Not in isolation❌
.
.
Context is 🔑 Coming off an Injury? Maybe we need some isolation work. Healthy and looking to improve performance? Work the body as a whole unit!
.
.
I’m tired of seeing athletes training program emphasizing heavy bi-lateral deadlifting, back squatting, and bench press. Athletes need to train unilaterally and for functionality. There is nothing wrong with those movements for athletes early on in programming to build general strength, but at some point we must be progressed to unilateral athletic lifts. (Exception - Power Lifters)
.
.
Try these posterior chain focused lifts
a) SL RDL Clean
b) Drop Step Lunge / SA Lat Pull
c) Drop Step Lunge / SA Lawnmower Row

Shoulder Health for Overhead Athletes❤️‍🩹
.
.
.
The rotator cuff dynamically stabilizes and controls shoulder, keeping head of the humerus securely centered in the socket to generate controlled power during athletic movement.
.
.
Braking System - External rotators work as brakes during high-velocity motions

Strong rotator cuff = Healthy Shoulders

Move 💡 Weight 💨
.
.
.
Contrast training pairs a strength exercise with a high-velocity, explosive movement of the same biomechanical pattern to build raw power!
.
.
.
Post-Activation Potentiation (PAP): A heavy lift (like a squat) “wakes up” your nervous system. It makes your muscle fibers more excited and ready to fire.

.
Pairing Trap Bar Clean with Split Squat Jumps
.
.
The Result: Your body produces more force and moves faster than it normally could without that heavy primer.

Don’t be a player who just walks on the court and starts shooting around before playing! Real players lock in on real warm ups 🔒
.
.
.
If @nba players pre-game routine starts 3 hours prior to game time, then maybe you should do the same!
.
.
.
Hour 1 - Individual Court Work
Hour 2 - Pre-Game Activation, Light Lift, Dynamic Movement and Core Stability Exercises
Hour 3 - Team Warm Up including group shooting and lay up lines
