a few months ago a friend who watched me advocate against corbynism last year asked me for more information about antisemitism and how to combat it in america, particularly on the progressive left. what books could i recommend? what articles? instead i contacted my best friend @benmfreeman, who i grew up with in glasgow, and who was my rock through that period of time as an educator in jewish identity and a person who knows more than i could ever dream of knowing, and he said he’d be happy to zoom. ben being ben created a phenomenal slideshow and webinar program and so i invited a few other jews who had expressed similar concerns. there were eight of us that night. it was transformative to see ben in his element, and to watch a little community of jews learn the parts of our history we were never taught. life-changing.

a few months later, there have been 17 webinars and more than 200 attendants, from america, britain, australia, asia and more. we have welcomed jews and non-jews across religious and racial divides, and we’ve built a community focused not in reactive attack to antisemitism but in proactive education and empowerment. the non-jewish friends who have come have given me reason to ask for solidarity from others and a lot of hope. ben and i are just two scottish jews who are proud to share historical truth. this sunday’s webinar will be the last of the introductory ones on US time (there’ll be a UK one on august 30), but we have plans for many more programs in the coming months. if you want to come please email the address above. #jewishandproud✡️

🇬🇧 uk fam, i think a lot of you have been asking questions in the past week given the attention that’s been raised around the issue of risen antisemitism. @benmfreeman and i can help to further educate. please come to our webinar. we seek to arm jews with knowledge and help non jews understand why we’re speaking out. this past week has been enormously draining but it’s amazing at the same time, because every battle leads to some sort of resolve. jewish lives, heritage, and values should not be up for debate, but they are. so let’s move away from debate and towards understanding.

our webinar on progressive antisemitism is on sunday 9th august @ 12pm UK time. email us at info@benmfreeman.com to register. we’re here to help.
