I'll be sitting down with Erin from @londonsprettycool to talk about Planet Of Sound Rock School, working with the next generation of musicians, and what it means to be part of London's music community.

One of the most rewarding things about starting Planet Of Sound has been getting to know so many incredible people who care about keeping music alive and giving younger musicians opportunities to learn, create, and be heard. I'm incredibly grateful to be part of that community and to have the chance to contribute to it.

We'll also have some live music from our buds @cant_drive_yet!

Today marks one year of Planet Of Sound Rock School!

When I started Planet Of Sound, I wanted to create the kind of music-learning environment I wish I’d had growing up; a place where people could play the music they love, learn without being judged, and feel like they were part of a community.

I’m really proud of how much has happened over the past year.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing students and bands. I’ve watched students learn their first chords, take on songs they never thought they could play, write their own music, join bands, perform live, and record their first demos. Being trusted to help people work towards those goals has meant a lot to me.

Planet Of Sound has also become involved in London’s music community in ways I didn’t expect during the first year. We hosted open-mic stages @punkrockfleamarketlondon, helped out @londongrc, put on a sold-out student-band showcase @supplydemandbrewery, worked with @ldnmusicoffice for the City of Music Concert Series, co-presented Planet of Stomp with @stompboxlondon, we were a proud sponsor of Stompfest, and helped give young and emerging bands more opportunities to play.

Thank you to every student who has trusted me to teach and mentor them, and to the parents and families supporting what they’re doing. Thank you to the bands that have worked, recorded, and performed with me.

Thank you as well to everyone who came to a show, stopped by our booth, attended an open mic, shared a post, recommended the school, bought a shirt, took photos, made artwork, offered advice, or helped with an event. Every bit of that support has helped Planet Of Sound become what it is today.

There is still a lot I want to do. I want to keep welcoming new students, helping bands get started, recording demos, organizing all-ages shows, and working with people who care about the local music community.

Most of all, I want Planet Of Sound to continue being a place where people feel encouraged to make music, meet others, and figure out what they want their own musical path to look like.

Thank you for supporting Planet Of Sound during its first year. I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens next. ❤️🎉

Over the last 13 years, I have had the opportunity to play with hundreds of other ball players, and countless coaches across multiple teams and leagues. There are not enough words in my own vocabulary to express how thankful I am for all of the incredible people I have met along the way. I hope with all of my heart I’ll be back as an EBBA Bluejay next year, but the only thing more unpredictable than baseball is life. The last two years of EBBA baseball have been especially important, being the blueprint for back-to-back LDBAHL championships. I am beyond grateful for all of the opportunity I have been granted throughout my life rooted in this league. (Yes, house league baseball warranted this large of a goodbye speech). Thank you baseball, roll birds 💙❤️
