Today is six months since my surgery! You know what that means. An Instagram post about… improv?!?

I finished my Level 1 improv class the month before my surgery so the two events are connected in my brain. I obviously had to take a break after that, so finishing my Level 2 class right before the 6 month marker feels like the perfect indicator of my recovery. I brought a seat pillow the first day of Level 2 class because I didn’t know how ready I was. Turns out I didn’t need it.

Level 2 class has been a blast. I started looking forward to Sundays every week because I knew how much fun and laughter we would have. @swin_swin_ has been an amazing teacher. The Feedback King. And I couldn’t ask for better classmates. Watching everyone grow in confidence has been chef’s kiss.

Post surgery I’ve been experiencing more social anxiety. I think the time away from society atrophied some of my social skills. This year for me is about Reignition. Improv has helped me feel the fire in myself again. I still have a lot of work to do to conquer my anxiety but progress feels good. Onto Level 3!
