POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Had the opportunity to capture an incredible evening with Eddie George and Maker’s Mark, starting with a bottle signing at Market District by Giant Eagle and continuing into an intimate Q&A, tasting, and conversation at Spruce Street Sporting Club.

A night built around legacy, bourbon & football. 🥃🏈

From meeting fans and signing bottles to sharing stories, raising a glass, and celebrating the journey , this was one for the books.

Big thanks to @eddiegeorge2727 , @lanessaj , @ohioliquor , @sprucecbus @gianteagle @grandviewyard_marketdistrict @marketdistrict

Grateful to be behind the camera and bring moments like these to life. 🎥

I remember 2016, dreaming in the mirror—like what do ten years even look like? “When I had the choice to make, will I have done right?”

In 2025, the dude abides with deep sighs…
and since everything is everything so you can put an X beside my name, in real life…
and with real pride.

I remember listening to 9 AM in Dallas, on the way to the hookah spot to meet with Amirah Feb 28, 2016. “Scared for the first time, everything just clicked. What if I don’t really do the numbers they predict? Considering I’m the one they just picked to write the next chapter in history, this shit has got me sick.” Even back then, I knew the shit that we was about to do wasn’t regular and I Rmbr feeling like it was fitting that we were dropping on Leap Day. I think history has proven that feeling I had in my stomach to be appropriate and legitimate. It’s been hard today, rationalizing the fact that we relaunched FlyPaper just 4 years ago because it feels like it’s been so much longer. In 2020, the IP of FlyPaper is pretty dormant, much like it was when I first took over. All of the people on the team have moved on to new projects, inside and out of the creative world here in Columbus. What remains, is the energy that we manifested when planted the flag back on Feb 29 2016. When I took over FlyPaper, I had no experience running a publication like that (or any journalism credentials at all). My time leading FlyPaper (which would become known as FPM) was a grand experiment, where (with the blessings of Yogi and Chris) we positioned ourselves unapologetically in the notion that The local creative community matters and we would give the culture here the attention that it was missing. There’s a lot to be said about who deserves the credit and blame for the rise and fall of this experiment; I entertain all of it but don’t care for the conversation much. I know that the back half of the last decade was historic for Columbus and I credit the entire FlyPaper Family for being instrumental in sparking the movement. I’m grateful for the memories. I am appreciative of the doors that Were opened for me and for the doors that I was in turn, able to open for so many other creative professionals. And I am thankful to have had a space where I could find my own footing as an influencer, grow as a leader, and chart my own path, innovating what it looked like to be an advocate for my hometown Columbus. The momentum continues as I start the GREAT year of EhKees.
