Na portalu FilmNewEurope ukazał się wywiad - w wersji ocenzurowanej - z Beatą Migas (@beata_migas), podsumowujący jej udział w charakterze jurora w 51. edycji Festiwalu Polskich Filmów Fabularnych w Gdyni oraz najnowsze projekty, nad którymi pracuje jako reżyser. Niestety zabrakło w nim jakże istotnej wzmianki o owianym tajemnicą przebiegu selekcji filmów na jej początkowym etapie. My jednak z przyjemnością przytaczamy brakujący fragment. FNE: W kategorii Film dla Klimatu nominowano wyłącznie filmy zakwalifikowane do Konkursu Głównego, Konkursu Perspektywy bądź Konkursu Filmów Krótkometrażowych. Jak przebiegała selekcja filmów na tym początkowym etapie? Beata Migas: Sama chciałabym wiedzieć! (śmiech) To największa tajemnica ze wszystkich… Mam wrażenie, że zapomniano, iż festiwale nie istnieją po to, aby po prostu prezentować filmy, ale by prezentować najlepsze filmy. To właśnie ta dewiza powinna przyświecać selekcjonerom festiwalowym przy wyborze filmów. English version below 👇 An interview with @beata_migas has been published on the FilmNewEurope portal, summarising her experience as a jury member at the 51st Gdynia Polish Film Festival – albeit in a censored version – and the latest projects she is working on as a director. Unfortunately, it omits a particularly important part concerning the mystery-shrouded process of film selection at its initial stage. It is our pleasure to share the missing passage though. FNE: The films nominated in the Film for Climate category were exclusively those selected for the Main Competition, the Perspectives Competition or the Short Film Competition. How did the selection take place at this initial stage? Beata Migas: I’d like to know that too! (laugh) It’s the biggest mystery of all… I have the impression that it has been forgotten that festivals do not exist simply to showcase films, but to showcase the best films. This should be the watchword for festival programmers when selecting films. On the set of my latest film, "Red, Green, Round”, a political spy drama unfolding in Kraków amidst the escalating cyber conflict between Iran and the United States. I spoke to @gazetakrakowska about the sources of inspiration behind the film and the creative process that accompanied its production. "My fascination with the philosophical thought of Nikolai Berdyaev inspired me to write the screenplay for "Red, Green, Round”. I dreamed of making a film that would deconstruct the outer layer of reality that we perceive every day. May viewers recognise the drama of our times - the transformation of the human being into an economic category - and, together with the film's protagonist, seek a path to liberation". Jestem niewypowiedzianie wdzięczna losowi za wspaniałych ludzi, których postawił na mojej drodze, umożliwiając realizację pierwszego filmu przedstawiającego kulturę ugrofińskiego ludu Seto we współczesnym ujęciu; filmu, w którym wybrzmiewają palące problemy teraźniejszości, takie jak konsekwencje globalizacji, pozycja kobiet, współczesny kształt feminizmu czy dylematy związane z cienką granicą pomiędzy handlem tożsamością a ochroną ginących kultur.
