Last Saturday, over two dozen teens joined us at Symphony Center for a @chiarchitecture Teen Saturday Studio on Architecture & Acoustics. Associate Director of Production Joe Sherman and Grammy Award-winning Chief Recording Engineer Charlie Post led the participants on a tour that included the catwalk above the Armour Stage and the CSO’s recording studio. The group then used decibel meters to test the acoustics of Orchestra Hall with the help of former Civic Orchestra tuba Ben Poirot.

I am still reeling over what was nothing short of an incredible weekend!!

On Sunday I presented my graduate degree recital, and while it was a bittersweet moment to put the button on the two years I’ve had with incredible people, there was so much to celebrate! Thankful to the incredible people in my life who made this happen: my amazing accompanist Yoko Yamada (THE 🐐), my teachers, my parents, my studio, my girlfriend who set up the livestream, the SRT and ushers in the house, and all the wonderful folks who either came, tuned in via livestream, or just sent me well wishes! Love you all!!

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, I had the opportunity to play with the @civicorchestra Monday night!! It was amazing to work with Maestro Wilkins and reunite with both new and familiar faces within the orchestra! It’s always a blessing and a privilege to play with this incredible orchestra, thanks for letting me join you for what was a wonderful week of rehearsals and a lovely concert!!
