Almost a year ago, we did our first proper shoot. I’d messaged @benreadstudio because I loved his style, but honestly had no idea what the day would end up looking like or who would even be there.

Then a friend of a friend mentioned @jaysclimbs who somehow lived about 5 minutes from the workshop. He’d climbed Everest that year and had become the youngest Brit to complete the Triple Crown, so I started asking around to see if he might be up for it. I was definitely a bit persistent but somehow he said yes.

I remember coming away from that shoot thinking this could actually become something much bigger than I’d imagined. Fast forward almost a year and our final Summit Chasers T-shirt samples were sent today. They should be here next week.

They might be exactly what we’ve been trying to make. Or they might be a disaster and we start again 😂

We’ve shared quite a few from this shoot now, but this one felt like a nice one to share.

From our leads to slings and collars, we’ve always sourced the very best climbing materials from companies like Mammut® and Beal®. But when it came to the Base Camp Hoodie, it felt like a bit of a turning point for us.

For the first time, we got to design every single detail from scratch.

From the cotton, to the fit, to the weight, even down to the smaller things like the double seams and the way the hood overlaps to cocoon your head and neck on colder days.

All the things we’ve always wanted from a staple piece but never quite come across before.

It’s a pretty special feeling seeing those ideas come to life like this.

Shortly after taking this photo, we packed up our bags and made our way down to Pete’s Eats for a lovely Sunday roast and a proper catch-up.

I remember Dan saying he wanted to set himself the challenge of getting into trail running.

Since then, we’ve quietly watched him clock up the miles week after week… and last weekend he even took part in his first ultra.

We’ve loved following the journey.

Keep smashing it, Dan 🙌

The youngest Brit to summit Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse in a single season, and only the fourth person in history to achieve it.

What we love most about Jay is that none of this was for recognition. He set himself a challenge so big it gave him purpose. He wanted to show his children that if you commit to something with your whole heart, you find yourself capable of far more than you imagined.

He is a husband, a dad and someone with a full-time job who found the drive and resilience to take on something that feels almost impossible.

Most of us aren’t aiming to climb Everest, but people like Jay remind us that we can always push a little further and take one more step toward the version of ourselves we want to become.

🏃‍♂️✨ The SkyRunner Edge comes in both 3-section and 4-section options.

The 3-section design is made with runners in mind — the poles sit slightly higher than the quiver, making it easier to grab them over the shoulder while on the move.

In this clip, @benreadstudio shows just how smooth and accessible the 3-section Edge is when you need your poles fast during this years @13valleysultra
