1992 @iamspecialized HardRock Ultra - aka “DadRock”

Recently picked up this frameset that was kept in great condition from Georgia and built up my dream dad bike. Really stoked on the final build and I think it’s a stunner. It rides even better than it looks, and there’s something about quill stem mounted shifters that’s always been attractive to me. I’ve been looking for a build to use the @interlocracing stem shifter mount, and had these Dia Compe DT shifters laying around. The @simworksusa Homage tires in beige were just perfect for the build. The @nitto_handlebar_works Billie bars were a tad long for my liking, so I chopped 1.5” off the ends and turned them into Albas. A 135 mm Nitto Tallux gets them right where I like ‘em for this setup. Also stoked that I finally got to use the @shovelresearch cable hanger for the front brake! @benscycles had the perfect used Deore triple crankset that I envisioned for this build, and there’s fun little details from @___ghooost___ and @foragercycles . Building bikes is fun and riding them is even better! 🖤

Apologies that it’s been awhile, metaphorically speaking, I’ve been out on a long ride and I’m just getting back. I got caught up in the woods and weeds for a while, but I’m glad to be home.

Getting ready to sell this amazing 1975 Raleigh Professional. It was my bucket list bike going way way back. But I’m gradually going to be reducing and letting go of things of value I’ve accumulated. Why? Because that’s who I am and always have been. Release opens the energy pathways to new. In science we say “Nature abhors a vacuum” - but in energy/ spirit terms we talk about letting go of the past and creating space for new and different. Follow @benscycles for details. Truly in my opinion one of the most beautiful production bicycles ever made - while being attainable to the true enthusiast.

It’s the best feeling when your vision becomes reality this @serottacycling cx bike with @kirkframeworks suspension seat stays is now complete….. for now. The missing piece was the @woundupforks I was able to get from @bikekitchen thanks @eekawill I snagged the frame and a fork from @benscycles and had it in my mind that a wound up is exactly what it needed and I couldn’t be happier. #woundupfork #serotta @serotta_collectors_collective #zipp #srametap #betweentwobirds
