💚 WE ARE HONOURED TO WELCOME ARCHIE GOODBURN TO OUR GALA BALL!

We are delighted to announce that @archie_goodburn will be joining us at the John King Brain Tumour Foundation Charity Gala Ball at @thedorchester on Friday 30th October.

Archie has been helping to bring much-needed attention to brain cancer and the urgent need for change, alongside the wider brain cancer community whose collective voices and tireless campaigning are driving this important work forward.

Following a busy week including meeting with the PM @andy.burnham , Archie continues to use his platform to raise awareness and advocate for change.

On the evening, Archie will join BBC presenter @benthompsontv on stage for a special conversation, sharing his experiences and helping to shine a light on a cause that means so much to us all.

At the John King Brain Tumour Foundation, we know just how important it is to support those affected by brain tumours, and we are incredibly grateful to Archie and the entire brain cancer community for their determination to make a difference.

We look forward to welcoming Archie and hearing his story 💚

Shedding a tear, moi?

But bloody hell, don’t you all scrub up well?

The highlights are in and watching this back has made me smile all over again.

So much glamour. So much laughter. Some extremely enthusiastic dancing. And, underneath all of it, exactly what I hoped the night would be about: joy and connection.

People from completely different chapters of my life, in one room. Old friends meeting new ones. Conversations starting that would never otherwise have happened. Music, stories, hugs, ridiculousness and that particular magic you get when everyone decides to properly join in.

There were a lot of details. New York through a New Yorkshire lens. Studio 76. The tables, the flowers, the horoscopes, the palmistry, the Old Fashioneds, the music all those tiny pieces of storytelling I probably enjoyed creating far too much.

But the people made it.

And seeing all those faces together in this film feels pretty special.

Thank you for bringing the sparkle, in every possible sense.

The Best Is Yet To Come. ✨ 🗽

To misquote The Kinks: thank you for the Sundays! Today was my last Sunday BBC Breakfast, 5 years after my first.

So grateful to an unfailingly kind team, and supportive viewers figuratively letting me into their living rooms that time of the morning! 🙏☕🌞

Thanks for having me over the past month keeping the red sofa warm for Naga, Sally and Nina. And thank you for all your lovely messages.

A new look for @bbcbreakfast and August drawing to a close seemed like a good excuse for a photo dump.

Enjoy your Bank Holidays ☔️ and I will see you on the News Channel @bbcnews next week.

The colander had a moment. Who knew they aren’t just good at straining veg! #eclipse

Useful for when you forget your own name…

My morning essentials- tea, banana, earpiece, mic, glasses and lipgloss. Not pictured but also essential- highlighter (lime green) and post-it notes

Oh..and a yoghurt…

Two of the brilliant team who keep the show on air @jackholding_ and @higgala ❤️

One O’Clock News. Make up your own caption…

Charlie and I were joined by quite a few sofa celebs including Danny from The Script

Bella Ramsey- superstar actor (but happy to let others do the talking)

And Eve Muirhead. I am one of those who gets OBSESSED by curling. Once every 4 years at the Olympics. Great to have her back on the ice.

When will the robots take over? The big red thing not @benthompsontv 🤣🤣

Love this pic. Came at the end of a VERY hectic show for the brilliant studio team- Susan, Tracey and Emma. As well as doing their usual jobs like moving the cameras etc there were 12 guests (including two kids), so many Dolly props (wigs, outfits etc), books and a massive ….(see next)

….Solar panel. And a very dapper looking @peterruddick

That night’s night team. Who literally work all night putting the show together- after the day team before them have worked their magic.

And let’s not forget make-up. Also magicians. Pictured are two of the team- Philip and Sarah ❤️

New look. New mugs. And to those who’ve asked- sadly they aren’t for sale. Lovin’ the new colours…

I chewed the fat with @benthompsontv on @bbcnews the other day about the success of Chinese feature film Niu Lai (The Cow Is Coming). You can barely tell that neither had seen the film yet.
