🛖 Summer is the season for treehouses. Everyone remembers the ones they built as children—and that may have been the last time they experimented so much to create their own shelter. Because the treehouse is a wonderful way to explore—whether poetically or technically—the possibilities of human habitation, the Villa Medici in Rome is hosting the fifth edition of the Festival des Cabanes from May 20 to September 28, 2026. Its gardens will feature six original creations and a multidisciplinary artistic program at the intersection of architecture and landscape. This initiative is supported by BNP as part of the “Habiter Demain” forum, a unique gathering at the intersection of art, architecture, innovation, and impact entrepreneurship, aimed at envisioning a sustainable and desirable future. 1-3 : IL DUOMO INVERTITO - @bento.architecture 4-5 : FAÇADE - @ecal_ch @mutinaceramics 6-7 : AQUIFÈRE - @pria.atelier @velia.biz 8-10 : LA CABANE 7L @librairie7l @salazarsequeromedina 📷 @daniele.molajoli & @jeandesportes

The first week of Summer School 2026 is already coming to an end. Centered around fibre-based construction, the week brought together 25 participants for hands-on workshops, inspiring visits and plenty of conversations along the way. From Paille-Tech and the @karbon_be HEN project to a straw bale house, the Gooik House by BC architects & studies and a lecture by @bento.architecture , each stop offered a different perspective on building with natural materials. Grateful to everyone who shared their time, knowledge and enthusiasm. A collaboration with @atelier_amaco, @ulbruxelles , @environment.brussels , @degre.47 and @woonder.be
