Where do you get your Monster High dolls? I am out of touch and thought they were not in shops any more. I found this version. of Cleo de Nile on @bentzensemporium as part of a 2023 Monster High Monster Ball set of lavishly accessorised little monster dolls.

After reading about @barbiethemovie
I caught up on Mattel's plans. A doll can be an "IP". That is an Intellectual Property. I guess we always knew that dolls could be used on licensed products. The difference now, as I understand it, is that doll characters need to be available digitally as cartoons, animated series, even gamed. @karmasworldofficial is my go to example. The dolls are very good and the Netflix show gives kids more places to see their beloved doll.
We are going to be seeing a lot more of dolls werking in different places.

President Barbie. Another beautiful doll by @carlylenuera
The face might seem familiar. It is the Patette sculpt and if you go to Carlyle Nuera's page you can see his sketches and the story of the ream that made this doll.

In the UK, you can get her from @bentzensemporium

Inspiration for my paper doll characters. I have been collecting references for the two Afro-Irish paper dolls I am making. I wanted faces that 'captured the cute' . All dolls bring joy but cuteness is a special quality. The doll maker Robert Tonner talks about this in relation to sculpture of dolls and I will link to his video in comments.
Well, the collecting in finished. Here are some of the faces that inspired me.
@amarisandchaya London dolls
@karmasworldofficial - animated rapper and Happy Meal star
Bontle from @sibahlecollection
Oceanna from Mermaid High
Failfix, a vintage doll with braided hair
Stacie and Jayla from the Barbie family
Kalei from Diana Vining at the @virtualdollconvention
Vanessa from @officialrainbowhigh
Zula from @medadoll_inc

Here is my first picture of Crystabella who was gifted to me by @bentzensemporium after I posted about mermaid dolls.

The @mermazemermaidzdolls are beautifully made dolls with inset eyes, many accessories, long, long hair and giant earrings. They are from MGA ENTERTAINMENT so if you are reminded of Bratz, that's the connection. I have been unboxing her slowly and tomorrow I will show you her dramatic in-box swimming pose. She is very extra!

Mermaid High Oceanna doll from @bentzensemporium in the UK or Amazon.
The animated series, dolls and packaging art are lavish.
This is a multimedia franchise and @spinmaster seem to have spared no expense.
The animated series makes a lot of the mermaids secret identity and the fishtail/legs balancing act that mermaids have to do.
Now is a great time to think about mythology and fairies and mermaids, with @hallebailey singing her heart out about yearning to inhabit a world she was not born into. The Disney Little Mermaid has made magical fairy worlds relevant for 2023.
