Québec Matsutake sake with Tamagawa Spontaneous Fermentation Yamahai “3U” Junmaishu. Yashichida Mikuni Karatsu 弥七田三国唐津 shuki set made custom for matsutake sake by 鈴木五郎 Suzuki Gorō (b. 1941). We never serve matched guinomi and katakuchi / tokkuri parings for our sake service but there’s always an exception of the rule. Tamagawa brews the perfect nihonshu that can hold up to boiling temperature and imbue the deep early autumn aroma of Hautes-Laurentides pine mushroom. A warm sip fills us with a strong feeling of the season to come!

“There’s still a palpable disconnect between what Montrealers value and what MICHELIN celebrates. But there’s quite a lot to be happy with in this second edition of their Quebec guide.”

Montreal is better represented by MICHELIN in 2026.

Curtis composers’ orchestra concert 2026🎉

I still can’t believe my first concerto ended up being for my own instrument, Nagauta-shamisen.
Getting to perform it with maestro Vimbayi Kaziboni & the Curtis Symphony Orchestra was unreal.

This piece was inspired by the Zen rock garden at Daisen-in (Kyoto)—a landscape that reflects the journey from life to death.
I wanted to translate that stillness and flow into sound, while sharing the full range and color of the shamisen.

Also… proud I didn’t need to amplify the instrument🩵 Shamisen sounds so rich!!!
So happy the audience got to hear its raw, natural sound.

Still processing everything— grateful for EVERYONE who was part of this journey🖤
