This reel is a repost, but I am still completely in love with the b38 and it's my go-to machine when I'm working in the studio. (It has a lot of fun features, but once you have a machine with a thread cutter, it's so hard to go back!) If you want to come check it out for yourself, stop by our anniversary party this Sunday! 🪡 I have this long black skirt that I made years ago and I wear all the freaking time. So I thought it would be fun to remake it out of this linen I found 9 yards of at Goodwill for only $10! 🪡

Let this be your next DIY obsession for any season ✨ if you’re not into sewing, this could easily be done with fabric glue!

Here’s the full tutorial for ya 👇🏼

1. Cut your fabric into long strips— The longer the strip the bigger the wreath. The wider the strip, the bigger the ruffle. My strips were 9”x54”
2. Lay your strips on top of one another with the patterned sides facing each other. Sew one of the short ends together, making one long strip
3. Fold the strip in half lengthwise. Sew a seam on the long, open edge.
4. Flip the tube inside out and position your seam to the middle. Sew a seam on either side of your middle seam.
5. Feed the wire hanger through the middle of your two seams, scrunching the fabric as you go. Trim the wire, if needed, and wrap your two ends together.

We saw Akira last month during its re-release in theaters and I just had to make Kaneda’s jacket because my husband loved the classic so much and the jacket looked ICONIC.

I used the Joplin jacket pattern (free) from @moodfabrics as well as the darker red fabric and the lining.
I used red upholstery vinyl I found on @fd_fabricdirect and the fancy buckles were from Amazon.
The zipper came from @sayakatcosplay ‘s stash!
I used @oesd_embroidery to design the patch and embroidered text and my @bernetteusa b79 to do it.

I wasn’t able to post about this because it was a super secret birthday gift for Mr. Plexi today! So happy birthday to him - he loved it 🥰

When the machine is so good, you have to have it 💰😉. I’ve had this @bernetteusa bernette 08 Straight Stitch machine since it launched in 2024. Every time I stitch on her it feels like we’re back in the sewing room in fashion school. SO excited to add this machine to my personal machine line up.

My favorite things to stitch on this machine, other than leather/vinyl is stitching Rigilene Boning onto a corset foundation.

This machine is perfect for ALL aspiring designer/seamstress🔥
