It's been a mad weekend!

Shaun was blown away by his own performance at Ironman Copenhagen, going sub 10. Running his marathon THIRTY MINUTES FASTER than Leeds last year.

Amy came in for a bike fit to get comfortable and finished 6th at Ironman Copenhagen.

Jamie came in for a bike fit to find some comfort ahead of Ironman Leeds and he said, "if it wasn't for the bike fit I wouldn't have made it round!". He was 3kmh faster after his bike fit.

Bert came in to see if there was more comfort to be had on his bike and he went flying at Ironman Copenhagen.

Mark, chairman of Tri20 got a new bike for some free speed ahead of Copenhagen and is now going faster than before! Chasing his sub 10!

Kev has been dragged into the triathlon journey thanks to Steve who I coached for Ironman Wales last year. Coached and fitted by Velo Clinic. He wanted sub 3 for an Olympic Distance and he got it on a rough week!

There’s something special about racing an Ironman, But there’s something even more special when you’re out on that brutal course with 15 other big hitters, all battling their own heads going through it.

Everytime I turnt a corner there was a Tri guy having a punch up with them selves, we all propped each other up at the times we needed it and all made sure we got to that red carpet. That stuff is priceless.

I’ll continue to be forever humble and grateful to this Tri club and the sport of Triathlon. It does more for me than keep me fit.

Anyway back to ticking boxes next week. We keep pushing forward.

We go on

A few weeks of awesome racing, fabulous to see so many people out swim, bike and running. Congrats to our open water swimmers for their 24 hour endurance swim. Everyone had a cracking race at Blenheim Palace triathlon and the Slateman this weekend and the Cotswold Classic last weekend plus the All Nations super sprint at Dorney a few weeks ago. A great day running the Bramley 10 mile and a true team effort! 🧡🏃‍♀️🏅
I was half hoping for a PB of sub 01:26 earlier in the week but after a late night and finding out the course was quite undulating I arrived at the start having let go of the dream… turns out Lee had other ideas and paced me to a 01:25! 🥳
I also had a helping hand from Mark in his own way as he chased me down the last 2 miles until he eventually caught me 3/4 mile from the finish. He threatened to over take which was enough to push me over the line using the last ounce of energy I had left 😂
Thank you all for a great day 🧡☺️ @tri2oclub

Tri2o club awards night was a roaring success, it was lovely to see so many familiar faces and some of those newer to the club. We paid tribute to Mark Stokes who tragically lost his life competing for his country in the triathlon world championships last year and who fittingly won the Herndon personality of the year award. Congratulations to all our other award winners listed below:

🏅Club championships winners🏅
Martin Cook - sprint triathlon
Alan Howells - standard triathlon
Andy Tucker - middle distance triathlon
Callum Hughes - full distance triathlon
Adam David Phillips - multi sport

🏆Awards🏆
Mark Stokes - Henderson personality of the year
Sian Vaughan - Most improved
Mark Berriman - Most engaged newcomer
Kathy Stevenson - Against all odds

A big thank you to our new social secretary @stella_starfish for organising a brilliant evening. Here’s to another year of great racing and some fantastic club events.

1st Saturday of the month parkrun meet up was at California Country park this week, looking at the smiles it seemed a good time was had by all. We run a range of tri related activities and meet ups. If you fancy giving it a go we have a trial membership available (link in the bio). #tri #triathlonberks . #tri2Oclub 🧡🖤🧡 #orangeArmy 🧡 #triathlonclub #tri2O 🧡 #triathlete #triathlon 🏊🚴🏃
