Zwischen Repräsentation und Othering – was sagt die Psychologie dazu? Wie entstehen Zuschreibungen, Stereotype und das gesellschaftliche „Anders-gemacht-Werden“? Und welche Konsequenzen hat das für kuratorische Entscheidungen, Dramaturgien, Sprache und institutionelle Routinen? Gemeinsam mit dem Psychologen und Forscher Bertolt Meyer verbinden wir sozialpsychologische Erkenntnisse mit Erfahrungen von Künstlerinnen und Kulturakteurinnen mit Behinderung und chronischen Erkrankungen. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie Vielfalt in der Programmarbeit differenziert gestaltet werden kann – jenseits von Stereotypen, Othering und symbolischer Repräsentation. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich insbesondere an Dramaturginnen, Kuratorinnen, Programmleiterinnen und Kulturvermittlerinnen – sowie an alle weiteren Interessierten. 📅 Dienstag, 3. Opening today, Sept 5, 6 pm @bodrum_berlin 🍊🧡 the rise and fall and rise and fall and rise a solo exhibition by Laura Leppert The exhibition features a new video work circling places being conscripted into other temporalities and their refusal to stay there. A sunless town, a volcanic planetary double, and three flatmates traffic the future while histories seep back. Laura brings together landscapes recruited as stand-ins for other worlds and times with intimate stories of collapse and renewal, tracing how places and people resist their assigned futures. Language residues, gleaned from below their assembly lines, picked by the roadside, or ventriloquised, make up its script, functioning as the backbone and lifeline of the exhibition. The script stutters, loses its steps. Refracted voices of artists, thinkers, and political figures spill into the narrative of collapse and renewal, into the rise and fall and rise and fall and rise and fall, dancing on a single breath. But first, the island must be rescued from the tempest of events. Images loop, split, and fold into one another. Time jumps, circles, jams. Scenes double, falling into a syncopic rhythm beating the great, absurd, fleeting or accidental forms we might live in, provisionally, together. Portraying the amazing Elizabeth Ngari for @arte.tv Elizabeth ist the co-founder of @womeninexile, an organization run by women in exile to self-organize and support other women in similar situations. I remember how pampered my own life seemed, when hearing these women’s stories. It felt impressive and sad at the same time. This coming Sunday will most likely mark the day of the official return of fascism into power in German politics - a novelty since 1945. And who knows what follows that. Having people like Elizabeth and the other women I met that day in mind, it leaves me even more devastated. We can still hope for the best but hope alone will not protect or save us. Elizabeth and @womeninexile are a great example of communal support. That is not all we need, but it is a beginning we need. One of the moments that made #HACKATUNE2026 one of a kind: Prof. Bertolt Meyer @bertolt01, live on stage. 🦾 Born without his lower left arm, he found his original prosthetic hand impractical for controlling his modular setup. Instead of allowing this to limit his creative work, he began researching how to shorten the signal flow between intention and action. The result: he hacked a prosthesis, connected it to a synth and turned it into part of the performance. Engineering. Music. A deeply personal idea becoming something others could experience. It was exactly the kind of intersection Hackatune was built for: musicians, researchers and engineers pushing music technology in directions none of them could reach alone. A room full of people watching technology stop being just a tool and become an instrument. Thank you, Bertolt, for sharing this with us. One of those Hackatune moments we will not forget! Ôi giời ơi! Only one week to go until I leave Vietnam. The last four years have shaped and enriched me in so many ways, professionally and personally, and have often touched me deeply. We worked hard, sweated more than once, and achieved a lot together. I’ve had the privilege of working with outstanding partners and enthusiastic colleagues.
