It’s taken me a while to really find my own rhythm with style.

Growing up in Joburg and spending most of my adult life in the fitness space, fashion was always something I admired from the sidelines. I loved it, but I never really gave myself the space to explore it properly. It always felt like there were unspoken rules about how I “should” look or dress, especially in the worlds I moved through.

Then I moved to Cape Town. And honestly, that changed everything. There’s something about this city, the energy, the creativity, the slower pace, that gave me room to breathe and experiment a bit. Plus, dating @alexaschempers from @rethread_ has definitely helped me see things differently. She’s opened my eyes to being more expressive and intentional with what I wear, while still keeping it true to who I am.

I’ve always been drawn to statement pieces, the bold shoes, the loud shirts, the little details that stand out. But I used to wear all of them at once, like I couldn’t choose just one. Now, I’m learning the art of restraint. Still bold, still playful, but with a bit more flow and refinement.

Feels good to finally see myself in what I wear.
