Follow our new project @percyandpenderhughes.

Percy & Penderhughes is late-’70s glam, rock & roll, dirty disco and an ’80s tidal wave of funk—big drums, nasty guitars, synthesizers and enough groove to make the whole thing sweat. Producers @beskept_ @musicbycamden and myself disappear under one alias, with Baby Caldwell bringing the fire on guitar.

First up: “Bleedin’” — 10/31. 🩸

Album - Living In Large Buildings
Label - @greenlakemusic @fatbeats
Artwork @nadeneco
Cartoon artwork @gottkgo

“Living In Large Buildings”is the title and the brainchild of two inner city kids growing up in separate places but the same environment showcasing their love for hip hop culture. The album features everything from unique samples and cutting edge production from Bes Kept to intricate word play by J Scienide.

“We’re a music landscape currently where everything sounds the same and very predictable. We just want to bring something to the table a little different with replay value”.

Thank you to everybody rocking with the album!!! Run that shit today!!! More music on the way!!! ✌🏾

Last winter I was selected to be in the Sync Music Production Accelerator hosted by @thehookscl // @thehooksyncgroup // @thehookandco and it has significantly impacted my life (more on that later)!

I was one of two producer / composers (s/o @iamnubiomusic and our amazing instructor @iamcharles_collymore 🫶🏾) and we spent two weeks writing for TV & Film, writing for briefs in collaboration w the participants in the songwriter and music supervisor streams, getting feedback from the instructor / mentors as well as learning from industry professionals through panels and workshops.

My first assignment was for an AVENGERS fight scene, words I never anticipated saying, but for not seeing an Avengers movie 😅 I’m proud of what I made. Swipe to watch / hear it, along w BTS + other compositions created for Nike, Virgins, etc!

The SMPA was the light I needed during one of the lowest points of my life. Getting to work with and learn from the wonderful instructors, mentors, facilitators, and organizers @wellsaid, @vybzchantel, @iamceyion, @iamcharles_collymore, @beskept_, Sosah Serbeh, + @navshimmer_kalra and share space and create w other Toronto based BIPOC producers, songwriters, and artists who were so talented + supportive in a studio like @thisistoastandjam was an amazing experience.

Major love + gratitude to @mzmeesh17 for creating a space that felt safe + exciting, fostered creativity + community, and challenged me in a way that was incredibly invigorating + empowering. I HIGHLY encourage any BIPOC creatives interested in this program to apply, not only did I leave w more skills + confidence but also new personal + professional connections and a changed life 🥰

I love music production + composing for screen! Since SMPA, I’ve worked on a couple PSA’s doing sound design, mixing, and voiceovers, as well as music production and am available for upcoming projects, so feel free to HMU!

Many thanks to @socanfdn for their support in this professional development!

Also! The in-person week of the Women In The Studio National Accelerator by @canmuspub this week and I’m beyond stoked. Wish me luck!

If you know me you know Toronto and surrounding areas hold a special part in heart. From the people, culture, music and friends who are now family. I can’t get enough of the city. I’ve been coming there since late 2016 (Damn I didn’t realize it’s been that long) recording albums, shooting videos, diggin for records (big up @craterycon @cosmosrecords @playderecord (Peace to Eugene x Fion all the spots I dig at there’s a few that I ain’t naming 😄) to just visiting people and getting the best Chinese food on Spadina…. Anyway I could keep going on and on but I wanted to make a quick post about Friday.

Fire at the Philharmonic is an album that was put together while I was in the hospital. My family put an incredible piece of art for yours truly. Songs I completed and worked on during sessions in Toronto. A couple of the verses I completed and recorded while I was during physical therapy at home and in my hospital bed. We dropped it last year on bandcamp along with vinyl and CD’s… It will be available on ALL DSP’s Friday via @fatbeats I’m just going through the archives and memories finding photos of my many trips and adventures in the city (This just a glimpse I got crazy photos) Hit the link in my bio and pre-save it!!!! Again THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY INVOLVED!!!!!! ✌🏾(IG won’t let me tag everybody smfh) GO KNICKS 🟠 🔵
