Hot take: You don’t have to be “regulated all the time” to be healed.
Authenticity is trauma and spirituality smushed together, and you’ve got to figure out how to navigate both with the personality you built in childhood.
Spiritual folks feel ashamed for being depressed while everyone else is having breakthroughs. Therapy folks get so pathologized they never transform.
What if both sides sat down and admitted how much they have in common?
There’s no community out there where everyone was born in pure light. This is just part of being human.

“I’m right, You’re Wrong”
I was mid-text-argument with someone I have a really contentious relationship with.
And I could feel it: same neural pathway, same story. I’m right. I’m the good guy. He’s the bad guy.
Then I got radically honest with myself.
This wasn’t about anger. It was about an old betrayal and a hurt I’d never dealt with.
So I said exactly that. And something in me let go of the armor.
If you keep doing the same thing, you’ll keep getting the same result. Transformation starts with telling yourself the truth.

When life hurts, your brain reaches for one of four survival archetypes:

Wounded Child: “Am I lovable?”
Victim: “Whose fault is this?”
Prostitute: “What can I trade to feel safe?”
Saboteur: “Procrastinate… or blow it all up.”

The first two are where healing starts. The last two are where growth happens.

Most of us get stuck healing.

“I’ve not had money, and I’ve had money. Life is easier with money.”
Our host gets honest about what money changed—and what it couldn’t heal.
It eased some pressures. But it didn’t resolve insecurity or create the feeling of being loved. Those struggles followed, sometimes showing up in different ways.
There’s a story we’re sold that once we have enough money, we’ll finally feel enough ourselves.

What if grit is trusting yourself to figure it out—even when you have no idea how?

Our guest shares what it felt like to teach yoga while their once strong mother could no longer speak or move freely and was living in a nursing home.
Watching students walk in, kick off their shoes, and roll out their mats brought up anger and grief. Those everyday movements were things their mother had lost.
So they brought that truth into the room, inviting students to notice what they could do and feel grateful for it.

Revenue is vanity. Profit is reality. And it’s the biggest lie in entrepreneurship.

Business profitability strategist Michelle Jacobik explains why growing your revenue doesn’t mean growing your wealth — and why so many entrepreneurs get this backwards.

Michelle owned an insurance agency with 600 contractors, and watched business owners scale from 3 employees to 20, only to end up in her office asking: “I’m making $2 million in sales, before I was making $300K, and I’m taking home less. Everybody’s being paid. I have no more money. What is wrong with me?”

The answer: they were focused on the revenue number instead of cash flow tracking. Even after scaling up, they were making less money — and many had to scale back down to one or two people just to bring home a paycheck again.
