🗣️ THE COST OF HOUSING IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

As Mayor, we're transferring city property into community land trusts. That means we can keep costs low because the land is owned by the public instead of private developers.

We don't need more luxury hotels and condos. We need more affordable homes.

💗💙💚 SUGAR, SPICE & EVERYTHING NICE… WITH A LITTLE CHEMICAL X! 🧪✨

Louisville, Kentucky, meet our Powerpuff Girls-inspired fashion editorial!

Growing up, Cartoon Network was EVERYTHING to me. The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog… those were the days! 🥹❤️

One day, while walking around Mellwood Art Center, I spotted a little painting of The Powerpuff Girls and Professor Utonium, and suddenly all those childhood memories came rushing back.

So naturally, I called my muses, my besties, and said, “What if we recreated The Powerpuff Girls… but made it FASHION?”

And here we are!

A little nostalgia, a little high fashion, a lot of creativity, and a whole lot of LOVE.

This is your reminder to never stop playing, creating, and honoring the little kid inside you who believed anything was possible.

Art doesn't always have to be serious. Sometimes it just needs to make you HAPPY 🌈
Thank you for an incredible team. I love and appreciate when our energies collide, it's literally magic 🩷🩵💚

WHO ELSE IS GETTING ROBBED AT THE GROCERY STORE? 🙋🏾‍♀️

As Mayor, I'll fight to open city owned grocery stores. We'll partner with food justice organizations and buy from local farmers to make costs lower for families.

No one should starve while corporations profit.

This may not get many likes because it’s not “sexy”, what’s trending or what is deemed as “beautiful “ in today’s society, but that’s not the point.
My hope is to reach more artists and more people who will read this and who this also resonates with❤️

It’s art, it’s a tribute to all and beauty is not just one thing.

An enduring feminist icon, Kahlo’s unibrow has become shorthand for: “I won’t curb my selt-expression to meet your expectations of how a woman should look.” That shock of dark hair on her brow is a statement rejecting stereotypes about what is and isn’t attractive.

Kahlo’s unibrow is important because it’s confidently unconventional. Her image remains a shaft of light for women who feel dictated to or shamed by narrow social constructs around what’s ‘normal’. “I used to think I was the strangest person in the world,” wrote Kahlo in her diary. “But then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.

Up at 7am, had my coffee and now ready to head out to Nashville. Hope you have a beautiful day❤️ XOXO

I love that Frida Kahlo challenged what society considered to be beautiful, how she stood proud in her own self worth and beauty in herself and her culture.
Her bravery to stand against the norm and society standards is inspiring.

YOU ARE enough and YOU ARE beautiful❤️

Frida Kahlo’s extraordinary explorations in self-portraiture are testament to the fact that, in real life and on canvas, Kahlo considered her image on precisely her own terms, celebrating her features
- her Mexican identity, upper lip hair and that striking unibrow. “I am my own muse. The subject I know best. The subject I want to know better, she famously declared.

That’s it for now. Got home from NC just a little while ago. Unpacked, repacked and ready to head to Nashville in the morning for work😅

Goodnight 💤

Time to switch it up.

Frida Kahlo inspired shoot❤️ Love all parts of my heritage and I especially love how colorful it is❤️

If you don’t know who she is:

Frida was a world-renowned Mexican painter celebrated for her vivid, unflinching self-portraits that explored themes of identity,
chronic pain, the human body, and her Mexican heritage.

Private energy monopolies keep raising your rates for profit.

But we can have public utilities putting power back in public hands and capping rates.

I'll fight for that as your Mayor.
