They’ll be asking the hard hitting questions like where you’re from, what kind of hair do you love to do, what inspired your awards show look, what your controversial hair stylist takes are…all of it! @miasarenabeauty and @alfredo_lewis are going to make the cutest red carpet interview duo that will get you pumped for the party ahead!

“White has chosen well with the small, manageable, and very strong seasoned cast along with a single simple set. The intimate staging allows one to feel almost as if they are patrons in the diner, eavesdropping on conversations between Katie and Paul.”

“Meghan Kennedy’s concise, just over one-hour-play. It is a story of character development, learning about one another and characters learning about themselves.”

“George Filieau is ingratiating as Paul. He could be the father or grandfather to everyman. He is relatable, kind, and maintains a sense of humor.”

“Lisa Bryk rules the counter as Katie, commanding the audience’s attention in her role. She captivates from her hair to the apron and line delivery, the quintessential diner waitress.”

“Joyce Reynolds as Peg, the town’s physician, makes a brief appearance in the diner to pick up a takeout order of coffee cake and provides a lovely break from the action. Her character has an interesting tie to both of the others. Reynolds’ brief appearance is a delightful divergence.”

“The play is engrossing and the time spent in the diner will fly by.”

“Overall, The Counter is amusing as well as causing one to think about life and life’s choices. It’s worth it to grab a seat in one of the “booths” and listen in for yourself.”

“The way Paul and Katie have both chosen to suffer in silence is sadly familiar, and when they finally take a chance and confide in one another, there is a palpable sense of relief that is joyous to watch.”

“The central performances from Filieau and Bryk are excellent, and they play off of one another well.”

“Filieau is a veteran of Capital Region community theater and it clearly shows in his stage presence, his comedic timing, and the way he tugs at the audience’s heartstrings when Paul’s hidden pain is laid bare.”

“Bryk similarly turns in a touching performance full of charm, awkwardness, closely-guarded grief, and ultimately triumph.”

“Reynolds only has one scene as Peg, but she adds humor and warmth to proceedings exactly when they’re needed, and Filieau and Reynolds have great casual chemistry in the few moments they have together.”
