Goodbye to Gladstone St Studios. In six short months @holding_studio was home to: 3 x exhibitions @jonathanmeyerstudio ‘Everyday Violence’, @hamishmcintosh ‘Works’, both curated by @guille_pik, @betchouf ‘Sanctuaries’; 4 x seminars @guille_pik @kfarchitect @how_to_read_a_plan ‘How to Read a Plan’, @u.meyer @rgd.jamieson ‘Burial: Studio’, @betchouf ‘Sanctuaries’; one film shoot @babi_bertoldi ; and many many parties @u.meyer @urtzigrau @isidoreajar. Grateful for the friends, family, and community who’ve stood by me through another lead up to competition. 💚 These last few weeks came with some crippling FA fatigue, STRESS, some cool opportunities, and the constant grind of trying to find meaningful work outside of sport. But somehow, through all the noise, I kept training. 🫠 I'm heading into this competition with the clear goal of just going up in ranking. No need for specific numbers... just up! 📈 Once the season ends, I’m excited to keep building - train smarter, head back to study, and keep showing up for my communities in every way I can. 🫡 Thanks to all who kept me steady during these chaotic times 🫂 نابرده رنج گنج میسر نمیشود #korat2025 #whereabilitywins #teamnswis #wheelchairfencing #parafencing #fencing

For MPP & Betchouf, a sanctuary, like our art, is more than a temporary space, it is an act of resistance and a necessary tool of survival.  Our collective communities are facing violence and insecurity across the earth, leading us to question: how can safety be achieved through the structure of a sanctuary? What does a sanctuary represent? How do you share it with others?

Country Performance Story: Staging critical spatial acts of political resistance with @doritahannah. Hosted by Bangawarra and @betchouf   Link in bio 🔗 “In these volatile times, it seems more urgent than ever to critically reconsider the necessary and entangled relationship between space and performance, between site and action, between object and event, between theatre as built form and theatre as art form.” Dorita Hannah, 2023   Join us for an immersive, interactive gathering in the PACT Theatre that explores marginalised feminist critiques through the staging of critical spatial acts of political resistance. This event will bring together a dynamic mix of thinkers, creators, and changemakers to interrogate how space - physical, social, and symbolic - is shaped by, and responds to, systems of power, identity, and resistance. Through a series of performances, installations, conversations and interactive art-making, we will collectively examine the potential of space-making practices that disrupt, reimagine, and reclaim. Whether you are a researcher, artist, activist, performer or interested community member, this event invites you to participate in a living dialogue on how we resist, build, and occupy space, together. Expect thought-provoking work at the intersection of art, activism, and academia. Expect to be challenged. Expect to create. Expect to connect.
