You’d think that after more than 20 years in the same job, you would have seen it all. Yet every summer, God faithfully reminds me that I haven’t.

What a summer it has been.
A season of hot days and late nights. A season of laughter, lifelong memories, and moments that words can hardly capture. I watched new friendships form and old ones grow deeper. I witnessed campfire conversations that moved beyond the surface—conversations about joy and pain, hope and heartbreak, faith and uncertainty. In those moments of vulnerability, I saw people point one another to the life and hope we have in Jesus.

More than anything, I witnessed the faithfulness of God.

I saw Him at work through a summer camp family that served tirelessly, sacrificed willingly, and poured themselves out to love campers and each other. I watched summer staff encounter the joy and hope of Jesus through worship, honest conversations, and quiet moments in His presence—away from distractions, away from the noise, and away from many of the burdens they carried into the summer.

This season also reminded me of God’s faithfulness in my own life.

I experienced the love, patience, and grace of my wife as I left home early and returned late, investing in the lives of our summer staff. Through every long day and late night, she faithfully supported me. I was reminded that God provides in ways we often don’t recognize until we look back. Even when the future feels uncertain, He remains steadfast, good, and faithful.

To my wife and fellow adventurer—thank you. I am so grateful to walk through life with you. Thank you for the late-night conversations, for listening when you were exhausted and had homework, for encouraging me when I needed it most, and for loving me so well.

To every summer staff member I had the privilege of meeting—or reconnecting with—thank you for letting me be a small part of your story. Wherever God leads you next, my prayer is that Jesus remains the center of your life.

Never forget this:
You are never alone.
You are loved.
You are valuable.
You matter.

I hope our paths cross again, but if they don’t—in the words of Grayson…

“See you at the gates.”

God was ever so present this week

Initially I didn’t think I was going to do anything this summer for God aside from improve my own relationship with Him. But He had other plans, and Im so glad He did.
It was an incredible opportunity to serve Him alongside other leaders and staff with the same mission of being His lights and witnesses in sharing the gospel to others at the camp.
His presence overflowed this week, and He moved in the lives of so many people.
Thank you Jesus for distance camp, and allowing me to be a tiny little part ✝️

So many things to be grateful for. FCA distance camp at UNK truly changed my life along with many others. I got to be a witness to so many young men and women giving their lives to Christ. The faithfulness behind FCA and the leaders I lead alongside is all to blame. God sees, God loves, and God blesses. That much was evident this week. Happy 20 year B-day to distance camp!!!! Seeya next year 🦇
