Here are some more of the works currently being displayed within the Debenhams windows, most of which have been facilitated by the Minories Artist Network! @theminories @creativecolchester

It’s been so lovely seeing these empty spaces brought to life with such a huge variety of creative work ✨✨

There’s genuinely so much to stop and look at while wandering through town!!

I think projects like this are so important for making art feel integrated into everyday life rather than something separated behind gallery walls.

Such a gorgeous way to celebrate local artists and bring creativity directly into the heart of Colchester ^ I kept the sound on so you can hear the hustle and bustle of the town this morning !

@bethholmesstudio Shop Exhibition
Paintings and prints available all month at @theminories

Beth Holmes (b. 1995, UK) is a painter based in Colchester, UK. She studied Fine Art: Painting at The University of Brighton and graduated in 2018. Her practice is concerned with the language of painting. Within the domain of abstraction, her visual dialogue aims to investigate the importance of gesture and the painted mark. Using an amalgam of mediums and processes, she explores the perpetual question when making her work; what is it about the materiality and aesthetics of paint that is so seductive and gives the viewer an emotive response?

LOTUS by Beth Holmes

The next exhibition ‘Lotus’ by Beth Holmes is opening from the 4th - 27th November
at Level Best Gallery Colchester.

‘This exhibition explores how the physical act of painting can help me to process the chaos and beauty of my everyday world.

Through a visually stimulating language of texture and mark, I am to portray the impression that the joy of materiality, physicality and process is not only for the artist, but can also transpire for the viewer.’

Exhibition open 8.30am-4pm Mon – Fri
Private View: Friday 7th November 6-8pm
Admission free, all welcome.
