Round the Bend Theatre returns to BST on Monday evening July 14th, 2025, at 7:30pm, with a reading of Lora Lee Ecobelli’s “nasty little farce” ADELAIDE AND THE DEVIL! 👹👹👹 Think Monty Python meets Noel Coward - this dark, absurdist morality play uses figures from the Tarot, religious imagery, terrible limericks, and pantomime to remind us that satire is a lovely way to look at our own dark obsessions and perilous escapades. ✨🔮✝️🔯☯️😈✨ Beth Troxell directs a cast that includes David Bunce, Katrina Lantz, Constance Lopez, Steven Patterson, John Remington, and Cameron Richardson.

About:
Mae has the simple life she is supposed to, typing memos for the "important” at Memos for the Less. Her hands, however, are suffering as she types day-after-day, sending memos up to the faceless on the 27th floor. But something is missing. Is it her dead end marriage? Or the constant messages she gets from her shallow officemate, or the lingering feeling of abandonment when her father left 36 years ago. It all seems to change when she goes to the Agency for the Lost, a quasi-detective firm with a founder who has a penchant for cigarettes and egg salad sandwiches, who promises to find her dad in the "lost dimension," a place everyone goes who leaves. When he comes back, or the person who she thinks is her Dad, she realizes that longing for the idea of someone isn’t exactly the same idea as the actual person. As her hands and body continue to weaken, she learns from her dad (who may or may not be her dad) that there is another way. A place where she doesn't have to follow the rules that she doesn't get or chase the preverbal carrot to get to the 27th floor. Will she give it all up and leave like her father, or stick around and finally feel "found"?

Lovin’ these Badass Mom’s of Saugerties!

Meet Beth!
Mom and theatre director and Co-Artistic Director of Round The Bend Theatre Company a Hudson Valley based company focused on the nurturing of playwrights’ work in development.

Beth’s mom approved gift is bags bags bags!! (And maybe a Hartford blazer.) She loves a summery Sisal Tote for the big things and a @shopclarev Grande Fanny for everything else.

We learned a couple things about Beth while we shopped and chatted.
Something that makes her feel comfort is enjoying theatre with friends. And rehearsal!
Something that makes her feel confident is her closet and putting together an outfit for the day! (Our kind of lady!)
She also shared a little wisdom: “At this phase in my life, when I shop, I shop well. I don’t like to have too many things. So I buy quality and one of a kind and I have it forever. The kind of thing both Bosco’s stores are stocked full of!”
Too kind. Thank you Beth!

Beth is directing a new play reading this Monday for Round The Bend! Find details at www.roundthebendtheatre.org

Saturday at 2pm, Theater Live presents, “Age of Anxiety” by @josephagutelius , directed by @betroxell4, with Bill Solley, Rebecca Brown Adelman, Sheila Wood. (Raindate, 10-4, 4pm)

The sophisticated, high-stakes art world of Manhattan is the setting for this edgy comedy about an “It” couple anxiously entering middle age. John is an art star whose latest success is literally “space that is unoccupied until some future time.” Ruth is an art historian, an expert on Auguste Rodin. He is on the winning side of the con game known as fame. She harbors a secret desire to make windows. Or break them.

Free. Register to attend. Note: This play is not suitable for children.
