This was somewhere special. A beautiful week in paradise at @thedatailangkawi. Wild and jungly, the kids had a blast, whether it was trekking through the rainforest or frolicking in the Andaman Sea. Life everywhere you looked. Lots more I could say (organic menu, open air rainforest massages and more) but for now here’s a few selects from our new favorite spot on Langkawi Island.

Big thank you to the lovely team for taking such good care of us and @betsypie for always sending me to the best places 💚

Thank you @kerrie_mccallum 🇦🇺for sharing the story of Begawan Biji Ubud so beautifully.
Your thoughtful words captured the essence of our farm-to-table (farm to fork) philosophy and the importance of preserving Indonesia’s heritage rice (Mansur).

That story continues at Rijsttafel Odyssey on 18 August (Tuesday, 6 pm) at The Legian Seminyak, where @chef_andrewfahludza of @begawanbiji will cook alongside The Legian Seminyak’s culinary team for a collaborative dinner inspired by Indonesia’s culinary heritage.

Thank you Anthony, for this beautiful story in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age Newspapers 🇦🇺

Beautifully written, capturing the spirit of the Grande Dame of Bali - The Legian Seminyak and The Club by The Legian Seminyak, Bali.

Thank you as well for mentioning two of my favourite restaurants: John Hardy Seminyak @johnhardybali and Begawan Biji Ubud (LHM Managed), a beautiful farm-to-table dining experience @begawanbiji

And thank you for highlighting two of my favourite spots in Ubud; Gaya Ceramic @gaya.ceramic and the Komaneka Fine Art Gallery @komaneka_gallery each celebrating the incredible creativity and craftsmanship that make Bali so special.

Swipe to the next slide to read the story or pick up a copy of The Sydney Morning Herald or The Age 🇦🇺 Newspapers to enjoy the full feature.

Ending Thursday where every Bali day should end, at my favourite restaurant at The Legian Seminyak, with a sunset stealing the show.
Great food, golden skies and a front-row seat to one of nature’s best performances. Not a bad way to wrap up the day.

The only thing missing? @betsypie - we missed you.

The story continued at the John Hardy Long Table, where conversations flowed just as beautifully as the food.
Chef @tomysaputra shared the philosophy behind the menu before sitting down to enjoy lunch with Anthony from @sydneymorningherald

A morning stroll through the Seminyak neighbourhood is best started with a visit to the iconic Petitenget Temple, a Balinese temple that has stood for over 500 years.
A place where history, culture and spirituality come together, just moments from The Club by The Legian Seminyak, Bali.

A special thank you to Wayan Arya, a local from the Seminyak village, for sharing the stories, traditions, and spirit of this remarkable place.

Welcome to the Grande Dame of Bali, Anthony from @sydneymorningherald and @theageaustralia 🇦🇺

The Seminyak neighbourhood is calling. From a visit to a Balinese temple that has stood for over 100 years, artisan boutiques, exceptional dining to beach walks and hidden local gems, it’s time to explore like a local, with a touch of quiet luxury.

In today’s @financialreview 👇

✍️ Conversation drifts to Norway’s wealth. (Ryan) Marchese holds up his phone. The number it displays has so many digits I don’t recognise it as a monetary figure: 18,516,997,939,667.

It’s the live value, in kroner, of Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, set up in 1995 to invest oil industry revenue (the current value is around 21 trillion kroner, or over $2 trillion).

With each citizen worth around $US340,000 ($477,000), the only sweating older Norwegians will be doing over their retirement is in the local sauna. ✍️

🙏 @upnorway & @betsypie for making this trip happen and feeding my insatiable interest in these Scandinavian countries. A few years in and I’m really starting to piece it all together…

Celebrating all things Bali with the ever-charming Hans Joerg Maier, the big boss of @thelegianseminyak visiting Australia - Hans tells me more and more Australians are heading to Bali – particularly in the light of soooo many people putting off any trips further afield …. since the whole Middle East situation.
An exquisite lunch at marvellous @mimis.sydney at Coogee - hosted by the perennially elegant @betsypie . . .
Bali is sounding like a very very good idea indeed . . . .
MENU:
*Crudo of the sea - coral trout bun cha, black pepper dressing, chilli & garden leaves
*Grilled murray cod, pipis, avgolemkbo, espellette pepper, fruits of the sea, grilled over coal, fried garlic pil pil
*Salad bouquet, shallot, soft herbs, mustard vinegar Et, shoestring chips, tarragon mayonnaise.
*Fior di latte soft serve, served with Zahara extra-virgin olive oil…..
🙏🏼❤️ 🇮🇩 🪷🌺 - thanks for having us! #bali #travel #legian #luxetravel

Thank you, Kendall for weaving such beautiful stories of the Grande Dame of Bali, The Legian Seminyak, in perfect company with Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and The Datai Langkawi.

Three icons, one narrative… told in layers, felt between the lines.
