💥NATTY ETHIOPIAN IN💥

Say hi to our latest addition to the shelves – ETH20 Bette Buna💅

This natural processed coffee was super high grown at 2,100 MASL in Ethiopia’s famous Guji region. The coffee plants on this farm are surrounded by wild forest trees and the handpicked cherries were dried for 5 weeks in the farm’s semi-forest plots – spending half of the time in full sun exposure and half of the time shaded.

The locally grown bean varietals 74112 and Enat Buna come with taste notes of berries, milk chocolate and the typical Ethiopian florality🌸

It’s super delicate both as a filter brew and espresso – come by, give it a try!

At the World of Coffee, we had the pleasure to meet the producer of this beautiful coffee – slide for picture spam and enjoy! Good stuff🥰

SCENE BETTER DAZE.

COOL THINGS WITH NICE PEOPLE.

Nice people is what it’s all about, so when Daze threw out the idea to collaborate with a coffee - it was a no brainer. Having known each other for well before the Daze and Scenery ever started, we’ve had so much love and respect for what these amazing people do. So to be able to share Scene Better Daze with the world, is something pretty special to us.

Now available online, and in-store at @daze.ldn, @batchbabycoffee and @paradox_design_coffee.

This is @bettebuna , an Ethiopian family farm headed by Hester @hester.syoum and Dawit @dawit_mersha_ashu in Sidamo.

We were recently introduced to the Dutch-Ethiopian pair via our friends at @kopifabriek and were really inspired by how they’re making an impact through coffee. On their two-hectare farm, Taferi Kela, Hester and Dawit founded Bette Buna in 2019 to help people in their community by empowering entrepreneurship and helping them build sustainable futures.

Bette Buna means ‘House of Coffee’ and Hester and Dawit are building exactly that – a home where people can develop safely and happily in the opportunities they provide. They are fueled by collaboration, not competition, and offer free seedlings, education, and price premiums to the farmers around them to uplift their potential.

Bette Buna’s farm, Taferi Kela, began with two hectares of fertile land at 1980-2100masl. Today, it has grown to 20 hectares through an initiative to purchase surrounding plots from their neighbors and family members while bringing them on as Bette Buna employees. When Hester and Dawit purchased their land, they also committed to paying the original owners any profit generated from the land for the next two years. Their final target is to grow Taferi Kela to 50 hectares and build a coffee nursery to hold hundreds of thousands of seedlings that can be distributed to farmers in the wider community.

We truly admire their sustainable business approach and the incredible work they do to ensure the financial security of the people around them. Their Taferi Kela Honey Process is now available on our online store, and stay tuned for more details about the coffee we can’t wait to share with you.
