WE WON! 🏆❤️⚽️ A few months ago, I took on the challenge of taking ladies from my team to play football. These women had only started playing in February OF THIS YEAR! We had just a handful of sessions before heading to Denmark. At the Girl Power Tournament, I was supposed to coach the ladies. Notice how I said participate and not play? 👀😂 Injury rocked our team, and I found myself playing competitively for the first time in NINE YEARS! Many of you know my story: playing at semi-professional level, the hardships I faced, and how I stepped away from playing to influence the game in other ways. Well, God had other plans. 🙏🏽 I returned to the pitch, playing and captaining a team of women who had only just started playing football. We weren’t fully fit, but we showed up with hope and represented the United Kingdom. In a world where so much tries to divide us, football gave us a reason to unite. 🌍❤️ From training with Italy 🇮🇹 (thanks @teo_cap for letting me intrude), to playing against them. From sharing laughter, smiles and hugs with Denmark 🇩🇰 to counting down the final seconds against the Netherlands 🇳🇱 . And yes, the hugs may have been a tactical attempt to distract the opposition! 👀😂 If I could bottle up the laughter, singing, dancing and sheer VIBES of this tournament, I WOULD! This tournament healed my inner girl. It reminded me of the joy of playing, the beauty of community and the power of showing up. Thank you to the @girlpower_global team and @khalida_popal_girlpower for such a memorable experience. ❤️ Mexico 🇲🇽 deservedly won the tournament, followed by Girl Power and Team USA 🇺🇸 . But we definitely won hearts through our smiles, laughter and connections. Nine years later, I was back on that pitch doing something I thought I’d left behind. COACHED. CAPTAINED. CONQUERED HEARTS. ❤️⚽️ ALHAMDULILAH ALWAYS ☺️ All pictures posted have been beautifully captured 📸 by @suzeqimages @dana.roesiger

Girl Power Summit 2026 ⚽️✨ Sharing a panel session with some of the most inspiring women I have come across in the industry. Coming from different parts of the world, we share one common denominator: football. Think about it. Fighting a battle on your own is hard. The challenges can feel like quicksand, pulling you in deeper with every step. But with sisterhood and allyship, the fight becomes a united movement for change. For every girl, and for the inner child in every woman, may there always be a seed of belonging, and the freedom to write a story of becoming authentically you. Here’s to sisterhood, shared purpose and making space for the next generation of women in football. ❤️⚽️ Huge thank you to @girlpower_global and @khalida_popal_girlpower for always welcoming me with open arms. #football #hijab #girlpower2026
