High above Albion House, a faded ghost sign offers a glimpse into the building’s past. Once painted to advertise businesses to passers-by, signs like this have survived long after the companies themselves disappeared.

Next time you’re walking through Bankside, look up. You might spot a piece of history still written on the walls.

I’m struggling to readjust to normal life after the most incredible 4 days in Amsterdam. Everything seems so mundane and dull now!

It was so daunting attending Letterheads for the first time not knowing anyone (or anything!) but I found the most welcoming community, absolutely bursting with talent. Watching and learning from the absolute best, I’ve come home with a bag full of new brushes, a phone full of new contacts and a brain bursting with ideas.

Managed to bag myself two incredible signs on the last day too. Resident expert Dr Dan @dans_handpainted_signs Spider-Dam ✊🏼 and @elroytheartist beautiful purple gradient DAM.

Special shout out to all the incredible new friends I’ve made. My twinned city girls @negatrine and @epletyv 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇳🇴 and the gilding god @skiltmalergundersen .
And my new English pals with who I am already buying equipment together with and planning a mini meet up, I wouldn’t have survived the weekend without them @lisamacsigns @dompaynestudio and @stalkthewolves .

Special thanks in particular to @ashwillerton who is just the absolute best guy. Really took me under his wing, made me feel comfortable and welcome - all whilst encouraging me. A real top bloke and easily one of the most talented in the world today.

And now having spent the week introducing myself as Freshly Squeezed Signs, I’m working on changing to Blackadder Signs! Because @joby.carter was so insistent, and when he talks you listen👂🏼(especially when it comes to making money!)

Can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Back to real life after spending the weekend with 210 painters from 22 countries at Amsterdam Letterheads!

I painted a panel inspired by the beautiful squinty houses along the canals and included the booze cruise boat from the first day bid on by @delicious_signs 🚤 Hana and I were chuffed to take home pieces by @gumbo_signs @letter_boy piece and @tim_sake_lastplak !
Massive thanks to @amsterdamsignpainters for hosting such a brilliant event - I’m continually in awe of how friendly and supportive the community is and come home feeling so inspired! Letterheads forever!!!

Nos vamos a Países Bajos! 🇳🇱✨

Este 22 y 23 de agosto vamos a dar un workshop intensivo de Fileteado Porteño en Stoked, Haarlem.

Durante dos días vamos a aprender paso a paso las bases de este arte declarado Patrimonio Cultural por la UNESCO. Vas a dibujar y pintar flores, hojas de acanto, ornamentos y letras tradicionales, para terminar creando tu propio cartel fileteado pintado a mano.

No hace falta tener experiencia previa: el taller está pensado tanto para quienes se acercan por primera vez al fileteado como para quienes quieran profundizar su técnica.

✨ Todos los materiales están incluidos.

Fileteado in Netherlands! 🇳🇱✨

On August 22 & 23, we’ll be hosting an intensive Fileteado Porteño Workshop at Stoked, Haarlem.

Over two inspiring days, we’ll explore the foundations of this unique Argentine art form, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. You’ll learn how to draw and paint the iconic flowers, acanthus leaves, ornaments and traditional lettering that define Fileteado, and you’ll create your own hand-painted sign to take home.

No previous experience is needed, this workshop is designed for both beginners and anyone looking to deepen their artistic skills.

✨ All materials are included.

🕙 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (including a lunch break)
