Re-Edition SS26 — A curated obsession —and Sofia in full force / Sofia brings something truly special to this issue

“What do we need to know about the record? You have the sound of crickets on ‘Out in the Garden’ and chickens on ‘The Chicken is Naked and Afraid’…
I am not sure what to tell you . I was in a pitch dark room, and I would repeat the same lyric 500 times while laughing to myself . A never ending party, I will tell you that.”

“Typical action I take is I write lyrics with no melody, just words and words and words . I write constantly, I love lyrics . Then I will take those lyrics, and either I will do the production entirely alone, or I will call on one of my co-producers, for this project it was only Ben Hudson, and we will find random sonics together for me to go arrange later . If I do it alone, I am in a dark room and I am layering and layering and painting”

THE EYE OF @bettinapittaluga

Together with photographer Bettina Pittaluga, we wanted to tell a fragment of the story of queer identity, while depicting erotic services in today’s reality.

In collaboration with @supergolosa3000 and casting director @reinard.g, the series focuses on what unfolds during the encounter, the way a presence reveals itself in its modesty, its strength, and its truth.

Thank you, Nicole, for your trust and for allowing us access to a part of your life and intimacy.

The full series is available in TIDE Issue 7.

Re-Edition SS26 — A curated obsession —and Sofia in full force #OUTSOON

What’s your favourite place in the world? “Cuddling people, sleeping on top of a human . It feels like straight oxygen” says Sofia Isella our 8th Cover star wearing Courreges

Tell us a secret…
“I didn’t know people lied until a month ago . I thought lying was like death, happens to other people but it’s far removed . But no, people lie, Re-Edition . What a novel concept .

What came first: the chicken or the egg? “I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ME THIS QUESTION”

Saltzman-Leibovitz Prize nominee Bettina Pittaluga is a Franco-Uruguayan photographer who specialises in capturing intimate and emotive life moments through her lens. Her early interest in photography emerged at age 14 when she took pictures of friends and family.

"I like to think that I photograph beauty. I find beauty in authenticity; of an emotion, an instant, the other, in what is most real. I studied sociology and also worked as a reporter. Composing with what is already present and existent is second nature to me".

Bettina focuses on giving a voice and visibility to those who are not or too little represented. The project ‘No Body Is Just One Thing’ comes from within the community she photographs. Shaped by friendship, by conversation, by time spent together, she looks for the moment when someone forgets they need to perform. Much of queer history has been imaged through urgency or spectacle. I am interested in what it looks like when people stop defending themselves.

"No Body Is Just One Thing is a reminder, nobody is reducible. Nobody is a single thing. We are multiple, contradictory, intimate, and political simply by existing." @bettinapittaluga
