We are completely blown away! This past Sunday, the Austin community showed up with an unforgettable wave of love, energy, and solidarity at our Austin for Colombia Earthquake Relief Benefit.

The atmosphere at @anisdayandnight was absolutely electric. From the mesmerizing live sets by @nemegata and @wacheatx , to the powerful unity of the traditional Rueda de Bullerengue with our sister @carolinaa_oliveros and the pulsing energy of the DJ sets by @dilemastronauta and @nino_lento_es_fuego,
the spirit of Colombia was alive and thriving right here in Austin.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have already raised $800 toward our goal!! and we collected $600 cash at the event.
Where Your Impact is GoingEvery single dollar raised from ticket sales and online donations goes directly toward providing shelter and help to rebuild 10 houses by supporting @elmensajerodesemillas project.
More information in other post!!

The Mission Continues
We are still working hard to hit our $5,000 goal, and we cannot do it without you. If you were unable to make it to the pop-up show, or if you want to keep the momentum going, you can still make a massive difference from home.🇨🇴
Donate directly to the link in our bio.
Thank you to our incredible collective of artists, and to every single one of you who danced, donated, and stood with Colombia. ¡El pueblo salva al pueblo!

Love @bettynaa

We met with Jorge from @elmensajerodesemillas in Colombia to talk about our benefit show this coming Sunday at @anisdayandnight. This was with the intention to make it clearer to folks where the money will be going to and who are the people being benefited by it, and also the types of initiatives involved in making all of this happen on the ground in Colombia’s rural communities.

Link for tix and/or donations is in the link in bio 🔗

See you this Sunday at @anisdayandnight August 30th from 5 pm to 9 pm. ✌🏽❤️‍🔥 🇨🇴

MURAL IN PROGRESS:
NEW MURAL COMING AT @austinpubliclibrary AUSTIN CENTRAL PUBLIC LIBRARY parking garage.

Week one at the Austin Public Library is a wrap! 🏗️🎨We have loved transforming our early parking garage sketches into a vibrant, intentional mural. A huge thank you to our on-site assistants for working alongside us to bring this public space to life.
We are Beatriz and Paola—two Colombian sisters, migrant artists, and co-creators. To us, art is the ultimate bridge. It connects our ancestral roots with our new home in Austin, erasing borders and building community.
@paolaandreaward blends modern abstract styles with South American traditions to elevate ancestral foods.
Beatriz aka @bettynaa uses muralism and illustration to explore femininity and nature, building on years of community art experience starting in rural Colombia.

We are honored to create this piece as part of the ALL FOR ALL project. Big thanks to @raasininthesun initiative and to all the people involved in this amazing project!! .Stay tuned for next week’s progress.

What a finale!🎉

The Emerging Teaching Artists wrapped up their fellowship by bringing the magic to the Carver Museum as families explored, created, and connected.
Sewing, stamping, mural-making, Colombian drumming, and book-inspired drawing...there was something for every curious mind. Huge kudos to our teaching artists for showing up, adapting, and bringing their whole selves to every activity.

We are SO proud of our ETA fellows for bringing creativity, dedication, and heart to this ten week program! We are cheering them on as they continue their work increasing access to the arts as part of Austin’s Creative Community.

This project is supported in part by an Elevate Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
